Normally i would use Troll and Toad to find prices, but there is no where i can including Troll and Toad to find prices for LE's, they have been removed, and yes ebay has the prices, but ebay can be stupid, people ether dont know what they are selling ,how to sell, or over charge cause of the title LE, but last few years the LE's are just getting thrown around, they are easy to get, so now the price will be hard to determine. I know they been around 12 dollars and under, unless its from GSX or some other older amazing set, but they were not easy to get your hands on anyways, so if the ones that are easier to get which determined the fact most people had them so prices went down, but just cause some site stop selling them, ebay prices for them will go up,not giving it the real value, and there isnt a heroclix price guide book. SO here is my question, is there a site i dont know about or what to do to determine value? cause most people at my venue trade on price ( i dont like doing that, cause its a gamble, prices drop or go up daily, i once traded for a weapon x from captain amercan for my magneto from gsx, worth same price, 3 days later weapon x dropped a whole lot and mags went up over the 100$) and now people will go to ebay and trading becomes a little unfair.
Not to be too much of a d-bag, but the teacher in me has to know: do you mean "now and days" in your title, or "nowadays"? I'm not familiar with the former term.
PS: I use strikezoneonline and Troll & Toad in conjunction to give me an idea of the going value. When it comes to LE's, I check ebay.
I know you said ebay can be stupid, but the best way to see the value of a figure is to check the most recent completed listings for that figure. All the sites like Troll and Toad tend to inflate their values on the figure market to make a profit, that's not to say you can't find a good deal or two sometimes.
Yep, there is simply no other accurate means to gage a figure's "value" than by checking e-bay sold auctions. Yes, there can be found a large disparity between the high and low ends of what people have paid. Throw out the high, throw out the low, look at a trend of similar prices, or rather, the most similar prices paid, and that should give you a general idea. Online stores, physical stores too, Do NOT give you an accurate idea of a figure's actual "real-world" value. They have to get more than they pay (for the most part), they have to factor in what they have left in their inventory for the figure(s) in question, and of course, they have to factor in how long its been taking up whatever space they have alloted for the item. Among other factors. If you can ideally find a few auctions that started at a buck or whatever, with no reserve and go with an avg of how those ended up, you are most likely to find a reasonable value for your figure.
So, in short, "How to determine value now and days" has not changed in how values were best determined in the recent past.
Disclaimer: Personally, I do not think it is a great idea to hold on to some "value" too tightly. Nothing wrong with finding a general value and then swapping it for something of similar "value", whether it be cash or merchandice. And to further disclaim, this ain't nothing but my opinion.
eBay is stupid? No, it shows accurate prices because it shows you what people are actually willing to pay for something.

I just scored a white lantern wonder woman for $29 shipped. That was a no-brainer for me as I have set out to collect them all, and with that purchase, I'm down to only 2 left. I recently started a thread about this and stated that something is only worth what another is willing to pay for it. So the real question is.....how bad do you want said le?
Also, I paid like $16 for the zombie le when it first came out.....I know that was way over valued. But i wanted him that badly.....so I paid for it.

On top of that, look for what completed Buy It Now are going for.
Just looking at auctions if you are setting a fixed price isn't fair to yourself. There's a premium attached to buying instead of bidding, particularly if the figure isn't in huge supply.
I always use eBay and look at the last 3 sold auction items of a particular figure then average out what the value is. To me Troll and Toad and Strike Zne have inflated prices that you would never see if you tried to sell the figure yourself.
for trading I use an average of the last 5 completed listings to get the value of the piece in question. That will usualy take care of that 1 wildly over priced buy it now that is in there.

Getting hung up on fluctuating values is just going to depress you. If you trade for a figure you like, be happy; if his price drops next week, that's life.
For trading purposes I use T&T when checking values of SRs. If the two are within a dollar of each one, it is a fair enough trade for me. When it comes to chases and LEs I use completed ebay listings.
Now when looking for a price to sell or buy a fig, I use nothing but the completed auctions.
On a similar note, I was just declined a trade offer because he compared values on a secondary market site and I used Ebay. His values showed more in my favor but ebay showed more in his. The trade involved chases and I think that is why the values ended up that way. Still kinda feel bad but such is life.
I'll second what others are saying about Ebay. That's a great place to see what something's going for because it's a real time dynamic market.

Wow, nice find on that WL Wonder Woman.
I won The Zombie in a fellowship roll off, but I'd trade five of him in a heartbeat for WL Diana.
