This is just a topic to mention story arcs that were built up and then entirely forgotten for whatever reason (cancelled book, different writer, ect.)
This isn't for about stories that had a poor resolution or retcon or anything like that. This is about things that were actually straight up forgotten. Things like that are annoying, so here's your chance to vent and bring up some forgotten history.
For example, in Batgirl (Cassandra Cain) she fights some weird cyborg team called Force 14 (Here they are). They fight for a few pages and then their mysterious boss stops the fight, tells Batgirl to forget about it and brainwashes her into leaving and thinking she fell down the stairs or something. The incident is never mentioned again (That was over 10 years ago).
Another one is in one of the early issues of Thunderbolts the team is sent into a microscopic alien world. Moonstone kills the king of their civilization and it's built up as if there will be reprecussions... but no. Never again.
How about Daredevil: The Target. Kevin Smith wrote one issue of this mini and then just dropped it. This also happened 10 years ago. I'm still waiting on issue #2.
How about the possibility of the teased story arc involving Booster Gold & Brainiac 5 running from a T-Rex while arguing over the belt that protects the wearer? It was teased twice in the last Booster Gold series and never developed.
That series left a lot to be desired in general, but that one stands out to me.

Speaking of Kevin Smith, Batman The Widening Gyre. Cliffhanger then nothing. Now With the New 52 conclusion seems unlikely.
If the one - *one* - upside to the New 52 is the ability to completely dismiss Kevin Smith's treatment of Batman as the horrible fan fiction that it was, then I can only applaud DC's "swatting a fly with an atomic bomb" thoroughness.

Well, in the vein of fan fiction, I consider Batman to be the most Mary-Sued character in all of fiction.
Yeah, take THAT, Batman!
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?
Yeah, I've seen it. All sorts of not great. Kevin Smith just needs to...stop doing things, I guess? Or at least he should stick to writing Clerks movies. Those actually WORK as drawn-out dick and weed jokes.
