Journey Into Mystery: Fear Itself/Fallout/Terrorism Myth
Hi everyone. I've heard lots of good things about Gillen's run on Journey Into Mystery and have been considering buying some trades.
What I'm wondering is if anyone has read them and what they thought?
A bit about my reading so far: I'm primarily a DC guy, but when I do go over to Marvel I mostly read Thor related stuff. I loved J. Michael Straczynski's run on Thor.
So overall, has anyone read these and what did they think and would this be an okay series for someone who doesn't really read Marvel, but is familiar with the Thor mythos to pick up?
Thanks!

I loved this series it is fantastic! Some of the best stuff to have come out in the last few years. I highly recommend them. You do not need to know much about Marvel. You might want to read the Siege: Loki one shot and the first trade of the Fraction Thor series to see how Loki got into this situation. If you already are familiar with Thor then that will be a bonus.
While I was a latecomer to Gillen's Kid Loki run on Journey Into Mystery, I quickly became a big fan. You're in for some fun comics.
Same here. I picked up the trade that collected the early issues I was missing a few months ago. First time I can think of where I was obsessed enough to fill out a run retroactively.

I was hella mad JMS was off Thor (as I loved that series along with most his other work). However, after I read Gillen's Thor that came after, I wasn't too mad... infact, I'd say Gillen's shot lived Thor run was my favorite since Walt's. I was bummed when Gillen left because I don't care for Faction's Thor run at all. However Gillen came back to Asgard and the adventures of Kid Loki have been amazing. 5 stars A+
Aaaand you can follow Gillen and his cohort Kid Loki in the recently relaunched Young Avengers!
This is a book I purchased off hand because Thor changed into Journey and I knew a new Thor book was coming so I just stayed to see where it was going. It turned out to be one of my favourite modern comic series. It's really clever storytelling like this that make me feel sad when Alan Moore says nothing new is good and that it is all ripping off the past.
Edit: The tie-in to Fear Itself had me forgetting how unfortunate Fear Itself was in the first place. It was that good.
