And welcome as we continue with previews from the upcoming DC HeroClix: Teen Titans set. Today, we bring another figure from N.O.W.H.E.R.E., a teenage researcher working to take down the organization from the inside, and eventual leader of the Ravagers, Fairchild!
I like her. I've always been a fan of fairchild and this is an interesting version. 85 pts. Starting incap/mind control/barrier options with PC moving into her power state. I would prefer some charge in the later dial but overall I'm happy with this version. I'm hoping for a solid tentpole in the FF though.
So counting the fast forces we get 3 versions of her? As not a fan of all things wildstorm, I think I will cherry pick this set rather than buy a lot of product.
I'm really a fan of old school Fairchild in the comics, and haven't been following the Nu 52, so this dial kind of comes out of nowhere for me - I'm not disputing it's accuracy, it's just not what I expect to see from Fairchild.
However, it's an interesting dial, and I see a lot of potential. The "hidden" 6 range is likely to take people off guard with Incap and MC, and the opening clicks of Mind Control really sort of invite you to move in an MC a high point figure - this has the obvious benefits that MC always does, but it also helps move her down the dial a bit, toward her more close combat oriented clicks. The option for Perplex or CCE is interesting, and while a 9AV is a little weak, meaning that Perplex will be the more common choice, against a softened target CCE is a good choice, and Quake is always situational, so it's good that you can choose it when you need it. And the soaring DV and damage reducers at the back should make her hard to finish off, especially with Indom. She can't really be ignored, either, with the potential for 5 damage with CCE.
Honestly, those low Defense Barrier clicks are the only thing really keeping me from liking her a lot.
Another disappointing Fairchild.
Although I'll give points for accuracy to a certain degree, as she does have the feeling of her earliest Nu52 appearances...
BUt that version of her was one of my least favorite elements of the new 52, and as a figure shes almost a complete waste of time...
it really does seem now a days that if a figure doesn't have move and attack or if it's not broken then the figure is not playable lol...for 85 pts. for what she can do and her powers...she's totally worth it, if you can't play her then you shouldn't be on the map...how can you not get use out of her. i want this woman
So we now have N.O.W.H.E.R.E.'s leader previewed...and two of the other three N.O.W.H.E.R.E. figures are Calculator TA, and this one is no TA at all. Not liking the lack of synergy there Still, NuFairchild is interesting and brings options...I'm almost always a fan of options. My only real complaint with the figure isn't the lack of team ability, it's that with only 6 clicks of life (decent enough for 85 points recently), 16 opening defense, barrier without a reducer up top, and no stop-click, she is a very tempting one-hit KO by anybody with 4 damage and a heavy object (or 5 and a light...or 3 and a UHO, but w/e). This really only gets worse with her limited Hulk-out. As an Indomitable piece, you actually want to ignore her innate Willpower to push to use MC to intentionally take feedback just to get to her better defense with reducers...but if ANYTHING gets through said reducers, she's out of commission, and unlike full Hulk-outs her attack will remain at the low end of normal.

Yup. So far, Harvest only has Calculator to copy.....which isn't even a legal choice :/
