Alright fellow nerds. On the ol Facebook I've been in what this girl is calling a debate, and I call it just a fun conversation about nerdy stuff. SO her favorite character is Wonder Woman, and I have zero interest in her so I know nothing of her powers other than she's made of clay, or daughter of Zuse (new52)
So, she's been ranting and raving about how Wonder here can beat any character in the marvel universe, or anyone cept Superman in DC. I'm calling some exaggeration here. According to her Wonder Woman can move at light speed...... which I have never seen, nor heard. She can also apperently breath in space or underwater. Now, I countered that with Flashpoint and Kingdom Come showing that she couldn't, but she completely ignored that. Now she refuses to cite any source to back up her long list of stuff Wonder Woman here can do. Can anyone help me out here because those are two powers I've never seen her have. She also is mixing incarnations into one if that helps.
Stop fighting with someone over Facebook on what a comic book character can or can't do, and just enjoy the fact that someone likes comics and has a favorite character?

Any popular character that has been written by dozens of writers over 70 years' time, featuring thousands of appearances, has been prone to varied interpretations.
There is nothing to gain, on either side, assuming one of those variations is correct. There are bound to be many, many examples that support and just as many that refute your point.
Just don't waste your time on it.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
I'd be happy to have a female friend who enjoys comics and go with it. The nu52 Azzarello Wonder Woman series has been exceptionally good. I only dropped it for finances, but it's been the best Wonder Woman I've read since the Gail Simone run (which started losing its steam with the Olympians story).
She can definitely kick Booster Gold to the curb, and she's definitely one of the strongest female characters in comics. She's of the Amazonian race, which is strictly female warriors built for combat. I'd agree she's definitely one of the strongest females in comics, but I'd agree to disagree on the strongest comics character besides Superman.
And she's got an invisible plane, so there's that.
Again, you're getting a girl to talk to you about comics. I don't see the problem here.

Unless she knows where he lives. And she's angry. Real angry.
Next thing you know, she's showing up at his place in a WW costume and chokes him to death with her "golden lasso".

Wonder Woman is one of those characters where it's dependent on factors outside of comics. Her strength has multiplied by huge amounts over the years in order to win over feminists.

If she's arguing like that, I really don't think you can argue with her, because she'll probably pull some other argument out of her behind in order to counter any evidence you can come up with.
Probably just for the best if you avoid this discussion with her.
Batman is one of those characters where it's dependent on factors outside of comics. His rediculousness has multiplied by huge amounts over the years in order to win over nerds.
I tried many of times to stop this, debate as she called it, for the simple fact that I had found a new comic loving potential friend. However, she kept going at it, raving how WW here was the bestest thing ever. I just get annoyed when a subject can't change over to something else cool, like some other comic or nerdy thing.
I eventually stopped replying because it became vary boring. I was just curious as to where half these powers came from because I had never heard or seen them, and Ive been reading for quite some time.
Most of Wonder Woman's powers derive from her heritage and combat training when being raised on Themyscira.
OTOH, her original creator actually believed bondage was a key to a healthy relationship, so he had Wonder Woman lose her powers when her hands were tied by a man. Of course, seeing the way you explain her defense for Wonder Woman, this would be the equivalent of telling a Batman fanboy that Bruce actually used a gun in his earliest appearances.

Fun fact. Her creator also had two wives, and invented the polygraph machine.
Way I see it, Batman beats Superman, Superman beats Wonder Woman, and Wonder Woman beats Batman.
Sure Superman could woop Batman's ### should he wanted to, but being who he is, attacking him would never be his first option. Superman isn't the type of person who would just decide to put Batman down hard. Which means that Batman is always going to have time to prepare, or get his hand on one of his gadgets.
Superman beats Wonder Woman through sheer power. Even in Infinite Crisis, they ended their fight in a no contest, and he was brain washed at the time. He broke her wrist, and she cut his throat, which only stalled him long enough for her to kill Max Lord. Seeing as she wouldn't kill Superman, she has no way to put him down for the count. He's too tough.
Wonder Woman vs Batman, Batman gets owned. Even with prep time, he's going to have a hard time taking her. She has no glaring weaknesses, has comparable fighting skills to his, with the addition of super strength, Amazonian strength and durability, and the bracelets. No chance in a fair fight, so he's gotta go for gadgets, and it's unlikely he had one to eliminate he before she cleans his clock. He might be able to get her with a trap or sneak attack, but even then, he better hope it works, because if it doesn't, he hasn't a prayer.
I did pull out some facts about the creator of her. She didn't like that. She also didn;t like that I said WW was made to be the token female character so women would be drawn into comics.
