My Team's Better Than Your Team: Late 70s Avengers vs. JLA
My Team's Better Than Your Team: Late 1970s JLA vs. Avengers
Welcome to a new flyingicarus and Gargantua production.
Here is a proposed series of games meant to counter-point our bigger or more involved games.
The premise is simple. We start at 800 points to use (to be adjusted if needed). Feats and relics may be used but nothing else and can be used up to 10% of the total cost.
Asgardians vs Kryptonians
Fantastic Four vs Cap's Kooky Quartet
70s JLA vs 70s Avengers
This is not to say we couldn't do the Inhumans vs Great Ten. Any match is game.
The winner chooses his next line up for the other player to match with a team of their own.
April 1979. New York City. It's uncharacteristically cold for spring.
"Beautiful day," Iron Man says.
"Says the man in armor," Wasp replies, "Even my wings have ice on them!".
"Aretheyhereyet? Aretheyhereyet?" the Beast asks.
"Relax Beast," Wonder Man says, "They'll be here soon enough."
"Are you alright darling? You're awfully quiet," the Scarlet Witch asks the Vision.
"Not at all, my wife, I am looking forward to seeing Red Tornado again. I do hope he shows," the Vision replies.
"Jocasta, I'm just checking in, the event should be starting soon," Captain America says looking up at a sign, "Welcome to the annual Justice League and Avengers brawl for Muscular Dystrophy."
"Everything is fine here, Captain," Jocasta says from monitor duty, "It's a quiet day."
"Ah, the League is....here," his voice drifts off as he sees the intimidating roster of Leaguers arrive.
"Jocasta....could you reach out to some of our reserves. I think we're going to need back up," Cap adds.
It is a crazy number of figures. I thought the Sinister Syndicate was bad! Next time I think I'll play the Fantastic Four!
As for the feat duplication, did we iron that out? I didn't think that would matter but I'm open to limiting it. Let me know and next turn I can do some swapping. I doubt it will matter this round.
Vision to S8.
Hate to do this right off the bat. Wasp makes Thor's range 9. He'll rs to Q13 and target Canary & Atom. Gets 11. I don' think your pc can help. I'll do 2 to both. Sorry, I hate doing this right out of the gate.
Adjacent to them are Captain America and Falcon. "Jarvis! Henry! What are you doing here?" Cap asks.
"I wouldn't miss this for the world, sir," Jarvis says.
"Me too, besides Jarvis is giving me his bread pudding recipe. It's out of this world," Gyrich replies.
Next to Falcon; the Beast, Wonder Man, the Scarlet Witch and the Vision are gathered in a circle.
"I tell ya, Vizh, you'd be perfect for the Thing's weekly Friday night card party. I mean no one has a better poker face than you."
"I will take that under advisement, Beast," the Vision responds.
Alongside Vision, Quicksilver speaks with the Wasp and Henry Pym.
"I see you're not in your Yellowjacket costume, Henry, is this wise?" Quicksilver asks.
"The big lug's got a bug, Pietro, ironic isn't it, Yellowjacket's got a bug, but Dr. Blake says he should take it easy a day or two," the Wasp says.
"That's really bad timing," Pym says, "Fortunately I've come prepared with costumes and Pym particles just in case."
Standing by Henry is Ms. Marvel, Thor and Iron Man.
"I'm glad you had Jocasta call in the reserves, fearless leader," Ms. Marvel says to Iron Man, "Thor, Quicksilver, Hawkeye and Yellowjacket will be really helpful on this one, I bet."
"No doubt, Carol Danvers," says Thor, "But the Avengers are ever-ready to do their duty, either in play or in real battle. As long as one Avenger still breathes the world is our to protect and serve."
"Took the words right out of my mouth, Goldilocks," Iron Man says.

I don't mind that. I expected this to get ugly right out of the gate.

Wanda tugs Thor back to W9.
Now that, I mind.

Really nice story post. It's fun to see an ancient and eternal God out of the loop with modern Americanisms and yet it is wholly appropriate that he is.
Jarv moves in place.
Forgot to roll for battlefield tokens for Thor: 4.
Wonder Man charges to S4, placing Beast in S3 and going for Flash. Needs 7, rolls 11. SS is 6.
Beast outwits his ss.
Vision charges to R4 attacking Flash. Needs 7, rolls 9. 3 to him. You can move Flash one square since he evaded Simon's attack but really it wouldn't change Vision's movement or hit.
Iron Man vs. Atom. Needs 8, rolls 5. Wanda can't help.
Thor vs. Atom. Needs 8, rolls 4. Wanda can help here and gets 10 ( 2 5s). Atom's out. Thor rolls 3 for his promotion, no upgrade.
Ms. M charges to R10 grabbing the LO in S10 attacking Hawkman. Needs 7, gets 7. Am I right that you have no pc in lof? 5 to Hawkman. Sorry to say this may be more one sided than it really should be. Or course you haven't used Superman yet.
Hawkeye rs to W16 attacking Hawkman. Needs 7, rolls 5.
Quicksilver hss to Q10 attacking Hawkman. Needs 7, rolls 3. He ends where he began.
Cap rs to R15 attacking Zee. Needs 5, rolls 9. She rerolls 9. SS is 6.
