I am having a problem with games the past few weeks in Heroclix and Mechwarrior. The problem I've been having is I'm losing every game and it has been hinging on the dice being very bad. Even an attack that invovles a low dice roll, the dice have found a way for me to miss. Low being a 5 and roll being 3 twice in a row. So, how do I avoid the evil rolls? I have tried different dice and they seem to be just as evil. Worst night I had on dice was a Mechwarrior tourney were every other roll seemed to be 1, 2, 3. Is this just rotten luck or bad dice or a combination of the two? Thanks
I try to roll one dice and a time when I'm having a bad night. It seems to get me out of the funk sometimes when all I need is a 4 and my first roll is a 3.
sounds like bad luck, but I use a pair of the black die from mechwarrior(I took them from 2 starter decks) for my heroclix games and they seem to work really well

Lol when i am doin bad i role one at a time and say i will sacrifice a goat to the dice gods. at 11 goats havent sacrificed one yet. one itme i crit missed 5 times in one game. i think i angered the gods.
anyone know they're record for crit misses in one game?
Even the worst dice aren't evil, they're just misunderstood.
It's always good to separate dice for their specific niches. D6s that roll low for me are set aside for initiative in Dawn Patrol. D6s that roll high get put in the HeroClix pile. I'm not sure that low-rolling d20s have a purpose anymore, so I give those to friends.... = )

That's why you roll one die at a time. If you roll die #1 and get a low value, you must hope that die #2 will do better. That's how I always rolled. It usaully gives me a total of an 8 or a 9.
I run HeroClix tournaments at Shuffle and Cut in La Habra, California. The format of each tournament will be posted here.
I suggest using Density in your next game. Or Scarlet Witch. Perplex is another that can give you a slight edge on your rolls.
But as far as your actual die rolls, there is no higher power controlling or anything, it's pure mathematical chance. If you've had an unlucky streak, chances are in time you'll have a lucky streak to match it. It all evens out in the end.
ive had games where the dice just hate me rolling 3s to 5s all night long and i mean all night long
one game where i actually managed to hit ultron with a flury of hits and he was on his last click with my annihalus only needing a 3 for the love of the dice gods a 3 and it was my final action to take ultron out and what do you know happens i open my mouth and say "i need anything but snake eyes" and what do you know we both stare at the dice and snake eyes are rolled i pushed 2 characters to try and kill ultron
next turn he moves to a medic and is healed suffice to say i didnt take one figure out that whole game
but then again you go on a hot streak where wolverine needs to roll a 10 with opponents 2 PC characters lookin at him and then rolling a 10 11 and 10 to successfuly hit with bcf now thats karma
dice are dice be it bad or good just roll with it
no pun intended

Some people are like Slinkies . . . not really good for anything,
but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Anyway, I played a wargame, ages ago, against my best friend. Used all this great strategy to get the odds in my favor. All to get about 10 rolls in a row - to start the game - where I needed either 2-6 or 3-6 on one die to hit...rolled all 1's and 2's! That game ended after about two turns, with my taking the evil die in question down to his basement and reducing it to fine white powder with a hammer!
I've only seen one pair of "evil dice" so far. It was the ones my friend was using at the XP Marquee. Poor bjmc1975. He pulled a great team, but used all his luck up getting the figures. I think his highest roll that day was maybe a 9. On average, he was rolling 5's & 6's every time. 3 critical misses. He gave those deadly dice away.
