My Team's Better Than Your Team: Cap's Kooky Quartet vs. the Fantastic Four
Welcome to a new flyingicarus and Gargantua production.
Here is a proposed series of games meant to counter-point our bigger or more involved games.
The premise is simple. We start at 800 points to use (to be adjusted if needed). Feats and relics may be used but nothing else and can be used up to 10% of the total cost.
Asgardians vs Kryptonians
Fantastic Four vs Cap's Kooky Quartet
70s JLA vs 70s Avengers
This is not to say we couldn't do the Inhumans vs Great Ten. Any match is game.
The winner chooses his next line up for the other player to match with a team of their own.
Score board:
Spider-Man enemies win over Batman enemies
1970s Avengers triumphed over Justice League is still in progress
Asgardians vs. Kryptonians still in progress
The Original X-Men narrowly gained victory over the Original Teen Titans
And now, going very old school, the Avengers circa #16 vs. the FF.
"Captain America?" Sue asked. "How can we ever fight him? It's like fighting the flag."
"I dunno," Johnny said. "Look who he's hanging out with. Weren't those mutants part of Magneto's band of creeps? An' I'm pretty sure I read in the paper that the guy with the bow and arrows fought Iron Man recently."
"Come on, hotshot," Ben said, "you expect me to believe you can read? Less maybe it was in one o' yer funny books where you just gotta look at the pictures."
"Why you big lump of mud! I'll show you!" the Torch said.
"Johnny!" Sue said, holding her fiery brother back with one of her force fields while Reed restrained the Thing with his rubbery limbs.
"Easy there, Ben," Reed said. "I'm not sure what's happened. I suspect it may be the work of someone like the Puppet Master, controlling him."
"I'll knock some sense back inta him, if you give me half a chance," the Thing said.
"Oh we'll stop them all right," Reed said. "I'd just like to do it without doing any permanent harm."
"Wanda, I need you to shake them up so we can go in," Cap says.
"I'll do my best," says the Scarlet Witch. She joins her hands together and an explosion rocks on the terrain above them.
"What is Sam Hill?" the Thing asks.
"Just us Avengers, Rocky," Hawkeye says unleashing a pair of arrows on Mr. Fantastic.
"You're a good shot, Hawkeye," Mr. Fantastic says stretching around them, "I guess I'm simply better at avoiding."
"You can't avoid everything, Fantastic Four," Captain America says thrusting his shield at a surprised Human Torch.
"What...? I didn't even see that one...." the Torch says.
"Let's see if you can see this one," Quicksilver says grabbing the shield and hitting the Torch with it at super-speed, "I guess you didn't it this time, either. Maybe you should get your eyes checked."
