This is probably a simple question but if a character can destroy blocking terrain as they move through it also destroy walls. It would be obvious to me that it can, but I can't find details on the ability. If someone could let me know yes or no and also where in the players guide it is that would be great

All i know from the guide is walls function as blocking terrain ... but that sounds vague to me.

Walls are considered blocking terrain, so anything that applies to (unspecified) blocking terrain applies to walls as well.
When an effect only applies to actual brown squares it will say "a square of blocking terrain" - walls are obviously not squares.
