Steve and Jeremiah talk about the new ATA's and some matches including a Fear Itself Match. An interesting question at the end and the answer to the mini maps in Teen Titans!
Hi guys another good episode of clixcast but in your discussion you stated energy explosion was always in effect and so could in certain circumstances interfere with certain effects that trigger off damage to a single character like the Maximum Carnage ATA.
Although this is technically true if you look at the Heroclix rules review on energy explosion on Heroclix.com. There is this section:
Also important is the word “may”. Energy Explosion activates EVERY time your character is given a ranged combat action that deals damage. But whether or not there is an area of effect is up to you.
Which I think means you could not do the area of effect (splash) damage if you wished and trigger the effect instead. Mind you I've been wrong before.
I literally loaded up the thread to go "HAWKEYE CAN'T HAAAAVE IT", and right as my cursor hovered over "New Post", Jeremiah said "Wait. You can't assign [Spider-Man Family ATA] to Hawkeye." And I actually shook my fist because now I feel like I have a reputation to uphold, and Jeremiah's undermining it!

EDIT: Beat me to it.
Good catch, guys. We've only been playing the new rules for a week, so I am still getting used to them.
In that match against Colossus, Dr. Light can't be one-shotted by the way. He has that LIVE click where you stop turning the dial and he can't be attacked for the rest of that turn.

Yeah, I realize that now. If I had a chance to play that game again, I am confident that I would have won it nineteen times out of twenty.
Fortunately all it really cost me was the Loki. And a wee bit of my pride.

someone from my GCPD gang in NML 6 forgot this too. schucks!
great cast. my mission is to play most of these ata's in the next few months. I used the batman family ata in a 400 pt game last night on NML batgirl, TT Nightwing @80 and the Stephanie Brown batgirl... it was more useful than I anticipated. it gave me more options when charging, perplexing and outwitting.
side note: the other day my buddy brought up a point that makes the offenders ata a little less situational: it doesn't say on it that the adjacent character has to be friendly.
ex: E thug moves up to base opponent, Red Hulk L/C up to same opponent and now attacks his defense of 13.
absolute madness.

Alright so I guess ill submit my question again, seeing how it seems to have been overlooked. "Are there any plans to feature Alpha Flight characters in future sets?"AND Keep in mind this isn't 'my' question.....it is a multitude of fans waiting for a hint. Thank you.

I'm sure your question wasn't overlooked. They did say they have a box full of questions waiting to be answered and as well Wizkids doesn't have to answer any of the questions submitted.
If your question is going to get answered at all, it'll probably take some time to get answered.
We have a guy who wins most of the time strictly based on his skill, he never plays crazy broken combos that i've noticed, he is just that good. I would be more offended if he was banned because I want a shot at beating him each and every week to prove my skills.
Regarding the closing question, there are a lot of things at play.
You say that they are not disruptive, but what is the definition?
If I have a bunch of 12 year olds with limited skill and someone walks in with a "highly tuned" team week after week and cleans them out, then I would say that they are disruptive.
Such a person is harming the play environment at that venue.
And taking age out of it, some venues might have a casual environment where people build things like the Future Foundation or the Warriors Three and someone else comes along seek after week with the JL team base or some other turbo-charged 300 point build.
You talked about it and said that you think that it would be better for the venue to take the person aside to talk to them, and I agree.
But you have to be aware of what the environment is like at the store.
When a judge at a venue set up the rules for the final Starro tourney, they said three rounds, then the top two players would play one additional game for the championship.
I played my three rounds, was told that I finished in second and would be in the Starro game, and I dropped because I had won a Starro elsewhere.
I see Fear Itself in much the same way.
It's one thing to go and play and get the figures, but when one person is winning, and winning, and winning, I have a hard time finding any sympathy for them.
Especially when you have large turnouts.
Have your usual place, get your pieces there, and then you can move around and try and get more pieces if a store has room, but if you already have the prize, take a step back and go light.
Don't build the 'best' team, don't ponder every single 'best' move every single turn, and if you make it to the prize game, step back and let the next guy in line have their shot while you play just for fun.
If that person tried a little more of that, they probably wouldn't be finding themselves getting un-invited to tournies.
