Does KA2 count as a Marvel set and therefore Modern Age legal?
I understand it is based off a movie, but the characters are comic book characters that were reprinted by Marvel under their Icon comics imprint. And since Man of Steel counts as a DC and is modern age legal even though it's based off a movie, does this mean Kick Ass 2 counts as a Marvel set, and thus makes it Modern Age legal to use at Gen Con?
Don't look for story source material to clarify a sets legality. Look at the bases themselves. If you see a Marvel, DC, or Street Fighter logo, then they are modern legal provided they were released within the current Modern window. Otherwise they are Golden Age only.
They groaned, they stirred, they all uprose, Nor spake, nor moved their eyes; It had been strange, even in a dream, To have seen those dead men rise.
Not just reprinted by Marvel, but straight up published by them, right? Under Icon. I would say it's as valid as any character created under their MAX line, or if we ever got something from DC's Vertigo.
KGB, that's actually not a bad idea. n the bottom, don't most clix figures say "Copyright ___" So if Kick Ass does say "Copyright Marvel 2013" that would make them Marvel right?

Doom Patrol, Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Arcane....
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing
There in the same camp as Gears of War which is a title published by DC comics based on the video game of the same name. That set didn't get modern age love either so I wouldn't expect KA:2 to be treated any different.

As stated above, they're more closely related to the Watchmen, but I'm still assuming that they'll be golden.

It wouldn't surprise me to see it be modern.
So how long does it take to get an official answer on this? I mostly want to know so I know what section to put it in in the units section once it comes out officially tomorrow.

The Pacific Rim Fighter Jet's range is a 6.
