I love that she is a "silver bullet" to Resources, cheap Collosals, Vehicles, Team Bases, and every other overpowered mechanic to come out in the past year. I hate that she neuters all other traditional team builds in the process, too.
I love that she is going to promote theme teams like never before (the roll to determine who goes first has never been more important...). I hate that they will only be theme teams featuring herself...
While ridiculously powerful for the points, I can already think of a couple of teams that can go up against the strategy people have been talking about with her and Ghost Rider. Like everything else in this game, she is powerful, NOT broken.

I would call them the "broken couple" or the "broken marriage"...just imagine crawler pulling the biggest gun on your opponent team using the portal only to return it to your starting area and be massacred by your team and repeat it again. And if you want them to be themed, just call your friend mr sinister to induct both of them to the marauders.
I love watching everyone lose their mind over this so-called broke piece. Looking over the partial list of characters in this set, I have already found a dozen of them that can lock this piece down. I can't wait to see the rest of the set since there has to be a far superior piece waiting around the corner.

See, this is what I like to see. People using their brains to see what works against another problem. I for one love the character and the fig. The fig will allow my umpa loompas (mindless ones) the ability to move out and do what they do best. Line up like the British colonial army and start blasting! Will it be abused, most likely but like many other figs there are counters and trade-offs.

At least it is a double power action, so she will take pushing damage. Nightcrawler wouldn't be so annoying if his snatch and grab your ***** move was a double power action.
The design feels a bit uninspired-- like a copy+paste job of Dr. Fate / Dr.Voodoo-- but it's a huge improvement over her Clobberin' Time counterpart. Personally, I would have staggered her powers in a "checkerboard" pattern (like Batzarro), and toned down her trait to limit the placement of Gateway tokens to within her printed range value.
I'm not entirely sure how people can see counters for Spiral. How do you counter her from all the way across the map without another Spiral? How can you counter her dropping a gate into your area and sending her allies over? I understand that if you go first, you can disperse to prevent alpha strikes, but even that is a tactic that leaves you high and dry. Spiral is looking to sculpt the game into teams that play her and teams that strictly try to avoid her alpha strike. Funnelling tactics into few specific archetypes really suck the fun out of the game.
