Having never read a Zoom comic, I'm not too well informed on this guy outside what I hear. Regarding his powers, I know he manipulates time, but I was always under the impression he slows it down, but I'm hearing others on this site say he's a time traveler. So which one is it?

On another note, I know he can hit hard (at times knock people from country to country) due to DC's infinite mass punch concept. If Zoom's power is time travel, then I wonder how hard can the Delorean from Back to the Future hit? If a human can hit people from country to country, then a car should be able to hit harder. It would be a funny sight to see Marty McFly knock Darkseid, Doomsday or Bizarro on the otherside of the globe.

Zoom has Flash's powers, and the ability to manipulate time (including time travel). Since he moves at super speed, everything around him is simply slower; he doesn't manipulate the inertia/momentum of other objects, as far as I know. I could be wrong.

The DeLorean isn't protected by the Speed Force-- you'd end up with Marty McFry if the car hit anything at Zoom's speed. Even at 88 MPH, more damage would be dealt to the DeLorean and Marty than the car's target.

Zoom, or Professor Zoom?

Professor Zoom is a time traveler from the future. He has all the powers of the Flash due to recreating the event that gave Flash his powers. He then used the cosmic treadmill to travel back in time to meet Barry Allen.

Zoom is from the current day. He was injured in a villain attack and paralyzed from the waist down. He asked Flash to use the cosmic treadmill to go back in time and keep the attack from happening, preventing his injury, but Flash refused. So he tries to use the treadmill himself, and it explodes, derailing him from time. He can now increase or decrease the speed at which he travels through time. He does do some time traveling later, he does so with Professor Zoom on the Cosmic Treadmill, not by himself.

Zoom cannot vibrate himself to become intangible like users of the speed force can.

As for the Delorean, it's just a car as far as speeds go. It travels in time, not space.

It's a car. It travels through space. Not "outer" space, but still, it does move from "Point A" to "Point B" and also travels through time.

Yes, but it doesn't teleport. When it travels through time, it travels back in time to that same location.

Let's throw Kid Flash into the discussion.

Pre-Nu52, Bart was Barry's grandson. After his trial for killing Professor Zoom, Barry and Iris lived in the 30th Century (Legion time). They had twin children, Don and Dawn Allen (aka The Tornado Twins), who inherited super-speed from Barry. Don married Melanie Thawne (descendant of Professor Zoom) and they had Bart (while Dawn married Jevan Ognats and had Jenni, who became XS of the reboot Legion).

Bart inherited his super-speed, but there was something wrong with his metabolism. He aged rapidly, and had to be raised in a virtual reality that kept up with his speed. He was brought back to modern times, where Wally helped him get his aging back to normal.
