Ever have a really cool moment lined up in a game, only to see it fall through at the last possible second?
Why yes, I do have a moment just like that! You're good.
I was playing in an important game, and it was seemingly hopeless. But suddenly, I had a crazy thought. So I went for it. My Poison Ivy used Mind Control on one of my opponent's JL52 Deadman. I needed a 8 (for me, that's usually impossible), but I managed to get it. Then I went to Mind Control their Mighty Red She-Hulk with Deadman. Again, I needed an 8, but twice this time since they had Prob. Still managed to get it. So now I planned on charging and hitting with her crazy B/C/F, but I needed to roll for breakaway. I manage to get it. So I went ahead and charged, and missed a 6. Afterwards, I realized if I had moved one square over, I could've used Prob myself.
It had seemed like fate was on my side, until right at the last second. Anyone else?
omg i lost track of those moments. been playing since clobbern time. off the top of my head during a cw tourney i beat my rival n the 2nd round. later we meet for the final match given we both had solid scores. i dont know why but i just rushed my guys n there and got hammered like it was my first game. it was embarrasn. like the equivilant of walkn into a large bday party holding a massive cake like im all cool, then tripping over and falling face first in it.

That stinks for sure. While I don't think I've had to play anyone twice in a tourney, I've had games where I should've dominated, and it seems like I am, but at the end of the game, I'm actually behind on points.
That's how I roll. Like, every game. Everything is looking good, I get everything set up, and boom, a single failed roll and the plan comes crashing down like a house of cards.

At first I was like "What does Hawkman have to do with anything?" but then I got the joke and am shamed
I'm afraid I still don't get it. I could probably look something up, but that takes more time than letting everyone know I don't get some aspects of pop culture. Crazy, innit?
All the time. First-and-best clixfriend says, "You build good teams." I do.
I'm all, "This team's in it." Rawr. Gonna smash some tiny plastic faces.
... then I roll some dice. (Pretend there's a link to Darth Vader's "Nooo-ooo.")
EDIT: LAST THURSDAY's FEAR ITSELF, I'm up against a kid at his first tournament ever -- I played Hulked-Out Thor, both Iron Fists and a Punisher. He ####ing crushed me. So much for relying on SS/SC, at all, ever, even just once.

This 1000x.
Happens to me every game I play. They always seem to take out the key to the plan after my first missed attacks too.
GWAR CLIX PLEASE
I have an extra Mikhail Rasputin card and need an Exodus card. Are you my soul mate? Pm me.
I don't normally play cheese. But there was a game in which I was really trying to beat the guy (I've never beaten him), so I played a stupid Scientist team. Professor X, with Killian, Tony Stark, and 2 V AIM Medics next to him, 10th Green Goblin, R Blizzard, and the 85 pt. AVM Red Skull, plus probably something else. My opponent was playing some Midnight Sons (no Ghost Rider) with the ATA. On paper, thanks to Killian, I should've dominated him. But somehow, someway, he slowly dismantled my team. To this day, I still have never beaten him in a tournament setting (I've only beat him in home games twice).
I Build my list around the idea that I will miss 6s to hit as it happens to me all the time.
Although had a really good game in a FI last month came down to my Valkyrie versus his Heimdal both on their second last click. He needed a 5 to hit me and missed, I needed a 3 to hit him. If it gives you any idea of my rolls I really thought I was going to miss, hit and won the game yeah Skadi's exploiting hammer.
But that may be the first time something like that happened for me rather than versus me. Of course this pass weekend GR Crit missed my VfHTB so maybe my luck is changing.

Mispelling words since 1985
One time, it was like my fourth or fifth tourney. Sealed, during the Infinity Gauntlet storyline. I was soo excited that i was going to win! It was the last round, the time was almost up, and I'd gone undefeated! I had CW loki on the top of a building, on his last click with no tokens. I'd killed everything on the opponents team, except for CW 60 point cap who was on his last click, pushed, in open terrain. I went to shoot down at him, assured of victory. After rolling I didn't even look, I needed a 4. I'd won... Then guy started laughing hysterically. After looking down.....
...I critical missed ... He laughed in my face for like five minutes...
