I just saw the last book in marvels end series, and they killed off Thanos. In order to put the universe back together and make it like the whole end storyline never happened Thanos scarfaced himself, and since no one remembers what happened the only evidence that he even existed (because no one remembers him now) is his hood, which he took off before he was whipped out of existence.
Theres only one Return, and it ain't of the King, its of the Jedi.
Did anyone else notice Jemas in that book? He was talking through Thanos, at the top of one page where he says that the universe will not recycle heroes from death, and there will be no miraculous revivals of dead characters. When someone's dead, someone else will replace him. Someone tell Jim Starlin that no job is worth being used as someone's puppet. That leads to the question, who is going to die, that Jemas and his monkeys will replace with someone new?
Marvel is ruining comicdom, and I'm sick of it. When Jemas leaves, everything will be so much better.
The End is supposed to take place a long time from now, so I wouldn't worry about it. Starlin had a good idea in his head, and wanted to put it to paper while his characters are still popular enough to see print. So Thanos shoud still be kicking around the present day MU. Also, given his love affair with Lady Death, I would imagine that Thanos' story is just beginning. The Thanos/Warlock saga has always been steeped in metaphysics and religion. Warlock himself has been on several lives, because in each one he is supposed to learn something different.
Actually Jim Starling has just started to pen a rumored NEW thanos Series (Or mini series I believe) So everyone's favorite Purple headed (...Err) Titan will be back soon.
And I love the way Marvel is headed to.
Jemas and Quesada Saved Marvel Some years ago when Spider-Man and the X Books were trash.

Ya, once he leaves we can get back to the ####py storylines with people dying and coming back to life, thus ruining old storylines and destorying why people died int he first place (ie - coming up with some stupid reason to bring Colossus back to life would just make his scarface meaningless). We won't get anymore of those stupid storylines that make a difference to the characters (like Daredevils identy being revealed) or books like New X-Men which do something different. We can s#### the Ultimate line.
Marvel books are the best they've been in years (if ever). They cut down the number of books they did to make the ones they did do better, they have some of the best writers working for them, and they are breaking new ground rather then just redoing the same old storylines with some name changes (just look at X-Treme X-Men and New X-Men - one is just the same old stuff they've been doing since the 70's,t he other is a new, fresh take on the characters). And what they have done has put Marvel back ontop of the comic world - look at a sales list. For the last 6 months or so DC has held the #1 spot with Jim Lees batman run and a spot around #12 with JLA, other then that Marvel has the rest of the top 15 sellers every month.

There are actually a hellacious amount of Marvel books out. But we are being spared the "EVIL" whole universe crossover every three months. Thank goodness. You buy what you want with no pressure. That makes all the difference. Jemas and Quesada brought my Punisher series back, so I'm willing to put up with whatever else happens.

Okay so Thanos dies in a what if comic? I mean isn't that what it is a possible future? I can guarantee that if I had to pick to beings to survive the end of Marvel it would be Galactus and Thanos. Starlin is a God and no offence but I hate the Ultimates in verey form. The remind me too much of super old 'What if Comics' where things just didn't add up. Well Im glad to hear of a new Starlin mini-series of Thanos because I am heralded as #1 Fan by all who incompass this earth. Him dying is just from what I hear one possible future that if things unfold they way the are will come to pass.
So who says Thanos wont cheat his own death or even change the very reality so the universe doesn't unfold the way its supposed too. Isn't Thanos the master of making his own destiny? To believe for a second that Thanos will forever be completely gone is not a reality I choose to ever believe or should anyone else who actually know him. He is the embodiement of the villains hunger for Knowledge and Power. He does this better than anyone, I mean anyone.
Well thanks for this post now I think I will go and read The Infinity War again I love that seies or maybe Quest for the Gems, or The Infinity Crusade, or maybe still the Infinity Gauntlet. Oh well whatever it may be thanks to Starlin and not to this guy who waisted away with Thanos albeit he will return if he has been destroyed he has done it before and will do it again.

Oh and if you wipe out Thanos you wipe out the one character that can defeat anyone. This guy has more uses than a swiss army knife and he uses cosmic beings as pawns in his schemes. Thats one of the best reasons for the Silver Surfer's hatred of him. Well kudo's to them bringing back characters cause Im all for that just don't get rid of the Master Villain of them all The Mad Titan Thanos.
