I just wanted to know, when using Kid Omega's Trait:
HIGN POWER, LIMITED SCOPE: When using Mind Control, Kid Omega may target up to three opposing characters if all are within 3 squares of him. When using Telekinesis, Kid Omega may target and place up to three friendly characters if all are within 3 squares of him; when he does, he ignores those friendly characters for line of fire purposes.
The question is, I have 3 friendlies within 3 squares of Quentin, if I use TK, can I TK friendlies out 8 squares of Quentin, or do the 3 friendlies have to stay within 3 squares of Quentin. I used him in a game the other night, I had 3 team mates within 3 squares, and moved them out, 8, 6, 5 squares away. From the text of the power above, unless I missed it somewhere, it doesn't limit the range of how far you can TK friendlies out. Thank you in advance for the help.

"When using TK" would clarify this. He uses TK, and there is nothing that says anything other than this. TK says you can throw them out up to 8 away and in lof, so as long as they were in lof, you are good =)
I'm no orange, but I am right...probably =P
*edit* also, as long as TK was showing on the dial =)
Everything must be within 3 squares of Kid Omega; that's why it says target AND PLACE. If they only had to be within 3 to begin with, placement wouldn't be mentioned and it would just say "target".
This means he could still potentially move a character up to 7 squares total, but only when you have something like:
C . . . . . X
. . . K . . .
Where K is Kid Omega, C is one of the friendly characters and X is the destination square.

I get what you're saying, and for his power to be appropriately balanced (novel concept lately), this is perfect, but MAN is that poor wording in the power.

It definitely is, because, like you I thought the placing would still be normal at 8 squares, just that the initial LOF to those 3 had to be within 3.
But to also place all 3 within the same 3 square radius...okay, I think I'll use TK normally because TKing 3 guys out 3 squares is nearly non-consequential these days...you need to CROSS the board quicker than that.

"All" has to refer to the characters. There is no mention in the power of destination squares. For the power to work the way you're saying it does, it needs to be errated to something like:

Edit to add: note also the first half of the power. You can can target and move three opposing up to 8 squares, but move friendlies less? Makes no sense.

You are correct, but since it has been ruled on, it is what it is and we go with it. Now if this was English class, the instructor/professor would look at the sentence in this power and just shake his/her head and give it an F.
Give this character a power action and designate a target character or object (A) and a destination square (B). This character, A, and B must all be within 8 squares and line of fire of each other. Place A in B. If A is a character, it must be a single base character and possess the HeroClix Tiny Damage Symbol or HeroClix Standard Damage Symbol symbol.
wouldnt it need to say something about the square they are being placed in as well?

Right, target and place are part of regular TK... So when you are told in his special power "When using Telekinesis, Kid Omega may target and place up to three friendly characters if all are within 3 squares of him" that means A (the target) and B (the place) must all be within 3 squares if he uses it in this way.
If all that was required that the characters be within 3 squares, and the final placement didn't matter, it would be written like so:
When using Telekinesis, Kid Omega may target and place up to three friendly characters if all are within 3 squares of him.
There would be no reason at all to mention placement at all in the sentence if it wasn't subject to the limitation.

You're right, it's extraneous, but if not for your massively wrong-head misinterpretation, that's a very minor Wizkids error. The sentence, as written, has "all" referring to "friendly characters." It needs to be reworded to work the way you want it to. You're ruling based on absolutely nothing discernible in the game text.

No, he's ruling it based on the text. I agree the text is awkward and ambiguous and could use some cleaning up. But the ruling is based on the text, and is not "massively wrong-headed" or even "slightly wrong-headed": is there some reason for the aggressive and insulting post?
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
“No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style.”
He's not basing on the text; the first and second half are now out of wack and again, "all" refers to "characters." Any argument otherwise requires the reader to forget how language works.

I can see how a clarification is needed about how 'all' in the use of TK should refer to all characters AND squares, or refer to all characters before and after the TK, however I don't see how the ruling as given contradicts the power as written.
An argument is much more effective when one doesn't use statements like 'wrong-headed' when referring to an interpretation they don't agree with.

Because squares aren't mentioned in the power. "All" refers back to "friendly characters," nothing else because it isn't in the sentence. It contradicts the power as written because Normalview is inserting something into it that isn't there.
