PRIZES :
In addition to lots of exiting prizes, the final winner will be crowned Champion de France 2013, and will also win a seat at the HeroClix European Championship in Essen later that month.

We can't go into specific details yet, but prizes will of course include Convention Figures, one of the rare chances to get them in Europe!

Players have 3 ways to qualify for the final event:

10:00 AM Saturday morning:


HeroClix French Championship Sealed Grinder Qualifying Event: Each sealed grinder will be made of up to 8 players and will be run for 3 rounds, with the winner qualifying for the finals. This event will utilize 2 boosters from the Wolverine and the X Men set.



2:00 PM Saturday afternoon:

Golden Age Game Play: This event will have a 300 point build total and all Golden Age figures – including Lord of the Ring, Hobbit, Gears of War, Street Fighter, Halo, etc. – are permitted. What is restricted are “Tactics”. Tactics are defined in “Part 4” of the rule book and include: Special Objects, Resources, Feats, Battlefield Conditions, Event Dials, Bystander Tokens, and Themed Teams.

Your team can’t make use of any of these mechanics. But we would like to clarify on some doubts that will probably arise::

Does this mean I can’t use keywords, like if my character has a special power that activates when he’s near someone with a particular keyword? No. Keywords are still a part of the game and can be used. It is ONLY themed teams rules that are not used. Your team can even have a group of figures with an exclusive keyword. It just isn’t considered a “themed team”.

What about characters that have special objects or bystander tokens – can I use those? Well, you can certainly use those characters on your force. However the “No Tactics” rule still applies. So, for example, you can play with Falcon (from Captain America), and he even begins the game with Redwing attached, however, since the game does not allow bystander tokens, you can’t detach Redwing and play the bystander.

The Golden Age event will use the new map rules included in the updated HeroClix Comprehensive Tournament Rules (or just to clarify, the map menu is not part of the Golden Age event)

Saturday night:


HeroClix French Championship “Last Chance” Grinder Event: Didn't win a grinder? This is your last chance to qualify for the HeroClix French Championship Finals on Sunday. Build a 400 point Modern Age force for the last seat in the Finals. Each round, you will review your opponent’s build and trim 100 points from your force for a 300 point match. This event will be limited to 64 players. Fight for the last seat in the HeroClix French Championship Finals!


Sunday:
HeroClix French Championship Final Event: Build the best 300 point Modern Age force and fight it out with the rest of the Top 16 and see who emerges victorious as the 2013 HeroClix French Champion!

HeroClix Junior French National:


Younger players will also have a chance to enjoy and compete in this very special event for kids up to 14 years old.

10:00 AM Saturday morning:

HeroClix Junior French Championship Sealed Event: This event will utilize 2 boosters from the Wolverine and the X men set.

2:00 PM Saturday afternoon:

Modern Age Game Play: Build the best 300 points modern age force without Tactics.

The best player will be crowned 2013 Heroclix Junior French champion.



You will also be a number of other events just for fun::
Choose Your Enemy – For this event, build two 300 point Modern Age forces. Each force can’t have any game elements that exist on the other force. As you are seated to play, you will review your opponent’s 2 forces and choose which one they are to play in the coming battle. Choose wisely!

Golden-Golden Age – Build a 200 point Golden Age force using characters only. All standard HeroClix rules apply EXCEPT: (1) A character may be given a non-free action after it has been carried and (2) Fliers are not restricted from being carried! Play HeroClix like you used to way back in the day!

Protect the Boss – Build a 300 point Modern Age force with at least 5 characters. The character with the highest point value is “The Boss”. Game plays as normal, with one twist. If the Boss is KO’d, all other characters on that force are immediately KO’d as well.
Meteor Shower – For this event you'll need to build a 400 point Modern Age force. But whatever map you choose, a swarm of meteors is falling. During the event, the judge will call out map coordinates where the meteors land!
•A character occupying that square is dealt 3 unavoidable damage.
•A character adjacent to that square is dealt 2 penetrating damage.
•A character within 2 squares of that square is dealt 1 damage.
• Multi-base characters may be dealt damage in multiple ways corresponding to the number of affected squares they occupy.
