I've played the first team before and it did reasonably well, what with being able to free-action carry 2 figs with Beast Boy when Kraven gives him an action, BUT Sauron is pretty darn good, and the ability to move him for free may be worth the sacrifice. Thoughts?

My thought for this list are as follows:

Wolverine Kills Support Pieces. He is a brutal piece, but against multiple hits he goes down quicker than a drunk cheerleader at prom.

Lizard has the belt, cooks it to +2 and SS. He take pushing DMG. He is then carried by Loki, who will eventually pushed to PC. Loki will transport Lizard who will attack free each turn for AV11, 4 DMG

Zoo Keeper take out heavily armored targets thanks to EW

Vixen Carries Cosmo who will TK Pieces. She is the sniper of the team with her 3 dmg and 8 range the DMG is Enhanced up to 4 thank to the dog.

Kraven is there for the free move. He Cat is there for the surprise dmg.

Croc disrupts plans.

Don't forget vixen since she can copy all powers!

Played my above mentioned team to win White Lantern Batman. Even against a hard armor team consisting of Gravity Feed Colossos, Kitty Collosus, Deathlock Prime and a heavy Prob con team it did well.
