We have a monthly build contest for our podcast "Dial H For Heroclix". The rules are simple. We give you build rules for an event. The event is one that is upcoming at one of our local venues. You build us a team. You can give us ideas on how to play your team and ideas for map choice as well. The more information, the more likely we are to choose your team. We look through all your team submissions, and each pick one we like the best. We use your team during our tourney. Whichever of us does best in the tourney wins. The person who submitted the winning team build gets 6 custom poker chip action markers, featuring a comics logo of your choice (examples can be seen in my Albums). --Relics, Resources and ATAs Allowed
--Team Bases, Vehicles and Colossals NOT Allowed
--All Figures must be Blood Relative or Spouse to another character on the team
--Example: TAB 005 Cyclops 105, M10A Dark Phoenix 200, WXM Hope Summers 75, Book of the Skull

If this was golden age (Or colossal's were allowed) I would have come up with a more creative team!! However here is my best build title defense!

Book of Skulls +5 Hammers 21 pts
Pretty straightforward team Jor-El starts out with tk and prob. Superman is superman and with a hammer is is still pretty much superman. ATA plus hammer means +3 attack when on the highest elevation. Jor-El if he takes damage could make good use of his lab explosion and a Running shot hammer. Drop hammers for extra quake attacks with that 15 attack value. I certainly wouldn't want to face this team!!

Superman and Jor-El give you 2 outwits and a PC. Lara gives you support and the potential to keep Superman from being one-shotted.
Superman and Supergirl open up by carrying Lara and Jor-El so that Jor-El can see both Superman and Supergirl for TK. Supergirl should be in hindering to make use of her stealth. Both Superman and Supergirl should pick up heavy objects on their initial move.
On turn 2, Jor-El should TK Superman who can outwit a target's defense. Supergirl can then use HSS to carry Jor-El and attack the target Superman outwitted. She should try to get back to hindering whenever possible. Jor-El can then outwit either the same target or someone else. Superman can then attack that target with Jor-El providing probability control. Don't forget to use the Kryptonian ATA to boost your attack. Lara can move up for later theme PC or support but try to keep her safe for her Superman saving trait.
On turn 3, use your outwits and clear.
On turn 4, outwit defenses and continue the attack.
It is pretty much rinse and repeat from here but there are a few things to keep in mind. Make ranged attacks with Supergirl and Superman if it means you will be in a safer defensive position. Use the belt items only as a last resort as it will mean losing Supergirl's indomitable.

No theme bonus, but if you happen to get map choice maybe pick the Prison to slow your opponent's roll and use your movement capabilities to pick the fight you want. Drop a Running Shot hammer on Magik for a potential 10-square Phasing Running Shot Pulse Wave for 4 (with Mikhail's Perplex), in exchange for a click of unavoidable damage that puts her Attack 1 higher. Mikhail can Running Shot for crazy distances or set up for Psychic Blast. Kuurth's Hammer on Colossus would help him get into the action, assuming you don't want to put it on Mikhail and make his mobility options even more ridiculous.
Like I said I'm not that good at Heroclix but this contest seemed like fun and I wanted to give it a try.

400 - Inhumans Theme.
Take something with elevated (get the most use out of Crystal) like the Blue Area (Thematic) or Bizarro World (to go crazy with Crystal!). You get 2 P/PB and 2 PW, a nice tie up in Medusa, 2 Leaderships so Medusa can remove from Ronan or BB can remove from all. Set the Gamma Bomb up to get them closer to you since you have some shorter ranges (3 and 6). Lots of elevated will be great for Crystal to knock people down with that trait. However, this should be used mostly when she is not top click unless a prime opportunity presents itself. She is mostly a RS/PB, barrier sparingly. Get Medusa in there to tie up, free incap, plasticity, and smash with a Heavy Object! Late dial flurry/blades is huge too. Black Bolt should do great from range or closing in for the PW + Skrulls adds some Def. Ronan is support cleanup with that 9 attack but he has willpower so he can do it often. The incap will come in handy too! Later he gets charge/quake and we already have a map to help us with that one. You get theme probs so my gut says use Ronan for those until he is needed as an attacker but in reality, it's just what helps most at the right time.
Thought about doing one centered around Loki and his children, but then realized that Fenris Wolf isn't modern, so I went with this one instead:
FI 104 E Odin 175 pts.
M10 005 R Thor 100 pts.+Infinity Gauntlet(all 6 gems attached) 40 pts.= 140 pts.
AVM 012 Sif 80 pts.
395 pts.
So this one is based around Thor spinning that Gauntlet and enjoying the bonuses of it while Odin plays primary attacker for the most part and heavy support with his boosts to the other two and Sif goes in as secondary attacker, quite effectively if I might add.
Best strategy is to take advantage of all of that range. Keep Thor at a distance until you're where you want to be with the gauntlet, and keep Sif close to him as a nice body guard. Make sure Odin draws in some forces, but keep him in range of his special powers
