Well, my hometown Calgary Flames won again tonight.
They are 3-0-2 and have the most points in the NHL.

This is coming in a year where most people picked them to finish 30, 29, or 28th place.

They are showing heart, grit, speed, toughness - and they don't quit.

The rookie Sean Monahan,
drafted #6 overall in the summer,
is on fire.

He has points in all 5 games,
and has scored a goal in his last 4 games.

I have never heard of an 18 year old scoring a goal in 4 consecutive games!
I think this is an NHL record.

Calgary's arch-rival is the Edmonton Oilers.
If you know much about hockey then you know that Edmonton
has a lot of high draft picks on their team.
( because they have sucked really bad for so long )

This was suppossed to be the year that Edmonton made the playoffs,
but I think they are in 2nd last place (29th).

I love it.

Go Flames Go.

Flames have fell off that torrid pace.
It was to be expected.

But they try hard every game.

They just beat the Capitals.

I hope Cammy continues his hot streak, and they can trade him for early 2nd round pick.
He is a UFA - and might not want to re-sign anyways.

Penguins doing good again

Thank God that Feaster finally got the boot from the Flames organization. Just a horrible GM. With him gone, they should be able to deal Cammy at the deadline to a playoff bound team, and snag a decent pick. 2014 could be a big draft year for the Flames.
