I'm assuming that, like the Earth planetary defenses of Month 4, the Orbital Weapons Platforms will hinder cloaked mines.

This is one I would like to play test some before going in, but I probably won't be able to. Is it better to ignore the OWPs, leaving them for your opponent to fly through after the first pass? Or take them out fast, at range, to clear yourself a path? Cloak and hope the cloak protects you from them? Or fly tanks who can just weather the storm and then repair shields when you can? I didn't play the earlier month with the platforms, so I'm not sure how those went.

I kind of want to just grit my teeth and go through them, inflict as much damage as I can, then get clear while my opponent still has to blunder through them on the come about.

Having said that......I think I'm going to wait to see what I like from Wave 3 before I make a build for it......I haven't played a Dominion fleet yet and the Battle Cruiser, Koranak (double target the OWPs!), and a Scarab are something I'd consider.

Locally we're really interested to use January's Admirals Orders so I would imagine that the February ones will probably influence my choice when it is all said and done.

I guess at my venue we're ahead of everyone. We just played month 4 and have 5 scheduled for January...19 I think. I know every time I post one of these all of the rest of you are still coming up with fleets for the previous month.

Well I was delayed but we'll be back on scheduled as of Feb (barring more issues).

But, and obviously this is different for each area, but wouldn't it be better to create a seperate 'gap' event for Jan instead of having no LE Ships to hand out, no participation Attack Squadrons to hand out and having to use old (or custom) scenario tokens for the event?

And then have the same issue the next month again?

I do totally understand to have a flow to the events and not skipping a month though.

Hmm, we've had all the prizes so far, and as far as I know we'll have them at the next one. If we don't, though, I agree it would be better to run something else.

Oh, wait, I see what you mean, it is officially scheduled for February. Hmm. I wonder if the organizer realizes this.

Yeah all of WKs events are listed as Dec/Jan (for 1 event) for the holidays........so for us, who only really started in Oct, we are catching up by playing an event in both Dec (OP3) and Jan (OP4, wAdmiral Orders).


The Kits for OP5 aren't even scheduled to arrive until Jan 29th I think.

I'd at least bring it up with your venue....some just miss this.

I actually had to make sure the Heroclix venues (locally) were informed about this (and they have been running WKs event for several years) for AvX as they were looking forward to running month 1 in Dec but after thinking about it and talking to the players it was decided that they didn't want to have a month delay in Jan and they would just start in Jan instead. Less things going on that way as well.

If you're not playing Cloaks, it seems to me that you REALLY should take out the OWPs.

Man, I HATE the OWPs. (Month 4 was my favorite scenario so far, and I only played the Month 2 after the event itself had happened.)

I'll be shooting them as quickly as I can...assuming no one jumps on me too quickly.

Yeah we still haven't done month 4 at my normal venue yet, and I'm waiting on the OP3 kit for that venue to come in so I can get more bases and my first place prize (GRRRRRR Alliance)

Okay I had not looked at this one before. Wow no Planet Token?? AMAZING!! Just straight up all out war against your opponent. I can see having some fun with this one. Sad that each OWP requires 2 hits to be destroyed so you'll be wanting to destroy those to get to your opponent on the way.

Yeah I'm thinking that the Koranak's special might be a nice thing to be packing for that event....
