I'm sure this question has come up but I searched and couldn't find it. Would Magik take Mystics damage from someone only damage by her SP?

THE HELL WORMS WILL EAT WELL TONIGHT: Magik can use Probability Control. When Magik attacks an oppsoing character the area of effect includes all untargeted opposing characters within range and adjacent to a square of blocking terrain. Deal 1 penetrating damage to hit untargeted characters.

MYSTICS: When a character using the Mystics team ability takes damage from an attack, the attacker is dealt 1 unavoidable damage. This damage is not
an attack.
I know you do from Energy Explosion but I feel like this is more of an added effect as opposed to damage from an attack. Thanks!
I don't think it would trigger mystics since the character is not actually targeted by the attack.
"MYSTICS: When a character using the Mystics team ability takes damage from an attack, the attacker is dealt 1 unavoidable damage. This damage is not an attack. "
Where in the Mystics TA rules is the word "target" mentioned?
A character using Mystics cares about two things, and two things only.
1) Did I just take damage?
and
2) If so, did said damage come from an attack.
Who the attack actually *targeted* is of absolutely no concern.

If this were the case, pushing damage from incapacitate would be subject to mystics. There was an attack roll and it does result in damage.
As stated in the rulebook, if a character is in an area of effect, they are not the target of the attack itself, they only become affected by it, whether that includes taking damage or some other effect. Therefore, Mystics will not trigger if an opponents hits them and they are not the direct targets of the attack. Similarly, Shape Change is circumvented by area of effects as well, since it requires the user to be a target to trigger.

Even if that were the case, receiving pushing damage from an action token given through Incapacitate wouldn't trigger Mystics, since the damage comes from the action token being placed and not the attack itself. However, the new boost that deals unavoidable damage to characters who already have 2 tokens when targeted by Incap will trigger it.

Incorrect on all counts, KCS

Pushing is not an attack. It is the result of a second action token being assigned
All that Mystics cares about is a) did I take damage from an attack and b) who attacked

Again, incorrect on the Mystics part. Please show me where in the rules, the PG or indeed *anywhere* else the word "target" appears in regards to Mystics?
That you didn't target someone does in no way, shape or form allow you to circumvent Mystics damage if you did indeed damage said figure with an attack.

My understanding right now is that Magik would take Mystics for everyone who took damage from her attack (who had Mystics of course), including both the EE recipients and the Hell Worm victims. Also, characters being effected by EE/Hell Worms would get Super Senses, but not Shape change as they aren't being targeted. Is all this correct?
