It helps (but also hinders) that there are no OP events in my area so everything I will play will most likely be a home game.

Speaking of no OP if I was going to buy second hand some of the OP stuff for home games what would you recommend? The ships are a little rich for my blood right now so just thinking participation prizes and what not.

I'd rank the Participation prizes in this order:

1. Flagship Resource
2. Command Tokens
3. Elite Attack Die
4. Sideboard

Obviusly there is also the Red Shirts as well (which seem a bit over prices at 4SP for what they do).

I have to agree with DS on this one. We've got an extra Kit 1 for this weekend, I should get an extra Elite Attack Die, I think I also have an extra Command Tokens sitting around here as well. If not I think I just sent it as a little "extra" to DS so pester him into sending it off muhahahaha

I would third DS - flagship cards, command tokens, elite die, sideboard. The sideboard can be useful, but you really need to build with a strategy in mind, unlike the others which have pretty obvious, straightforward benefits. It doesn't hurt that you're essentially buying an extra 10 squadron points, though, you're just limited in how you can spend them.

As a sidenote, if playing at home only and there are no OP events for you to attend, you could just buy the Heroclix ships, pop them off of their bases, and mount them on Attack Wing bases as proxies for the Ferengi and Federation OP ships, since those sculpts are otherwise unavailable in Attack Wing.

Obviously if you do end up playing OP games down the road, you'll need the real deal, but since you don't even have that option right now, I think proxies are a reasonable solution.

You talk to me, I get kits and have extra stuff and I do not gouge. You can ask many people here. If you can get stuff at cheap prices buy them up as many places such as scalperbay will rape your pocket if possible.
