I found myself confused at the new Energy Explosion rules when I was in-game today. If I target and hit two characters adjacent to each other (my character had 3 lightning bolts) then do both characters take 3 damage because of my 3 bolts? Also, does splash damage activate even before I divide up the damage?
Divide the shooter's damage value between the two targets. Then each target will take an additional 3 damage since the shooter has three bolts.
This is Incorrect.
A B C
you have A, B, and C all adjacent. If you target A and B then you will divide your damage value between the targets. If you designate at least 1 damage to B, then C will take the Area of Effect damage of 3 based on your characters 's
only characters that are not Targets and are Adjacent to the Targets will be in the Area of Effect and be dealt that damage.

ENERGY EXPLOSION
When this character is given a ranged combat action and deals damage, an area of effect may include all untargeted characters that are adjacent to one or more hit targets. Hit targets are dealt damage normally, other hit characters are dealt 1 damage for each
printed on this character’s base.
Both of the characters in your example were targeted so you divide damage normally, that's it. there were no untargeted characters so there is no area of effect damage assigned.

If you target, hit, and damage both A and C, would B take 3 or 6 damage, based on this hypothetical?
While on the topic of energy explosion, I couldn't find anything out about this before, but will the area of effect include friendly characters as well? for example:
A = Friendly Fig with sharpshooter
B = opposing fig
C = another opposing fig not targeted
A B
C
A Attacks B. So would both A and C be hit by the energy explosion damage? or just C?
All figs are adjacent for firing purposes.

what if it was set up three enemies a b c
lined in a row like that. if I target only b would a and c each take 3 damage of splash?
you know incase some one was ever dumb enough to line their guys like that.
