correct me if i am wrong, regardless if the game is being played for fun or you are playing a tourny, you must have a copy of any Card on your force (Character, BFCs, Feats, ATAs, etc.)
i know in the case of Feats and ATAs most Venues wont fuss with just one copy...but at least one copy is needed.
sorry, i feel like i got treated like i was being a dink for making a comment that my opponent should at least have brought some representation of his ATA (PnP or even one of the phone Apps that have ATAs described)
I think you definitely need something. It's kind of the principle; even if everyone involved knows what the ATA does, it's basically the same as that player saying they're too lazy to pull it up on their phone, much less print it out.
I know a lot of venues won't let you use a copy on a phone, but I don't see the problem with that. As long as the phone stays on the table so there's no question it's not being used for anything else than who cares?
Yeah, I'd say any card being played needs to be on the table for players who need to double-check the wording or something. That goes beyond rules and is just common sense.
Oh man, we got a Negative Man and a Jimmy Olsen? Now I need to think of a new signature after all these years!
What if im using something simple like a single feat or ata, is it acceptable to simply have it on my phone to show? Like if it right there and all i have to do is unlock the screen.

The tournament rules forbid all electronic devices, so that is going to be a big No at WK sponsored events. At your local venue, ask the judge.
i do not have a problem if my opponent uses one of the Apps on the Phone or Tablet to #### me what the ATA, Feat, etc...however, i do see in a tourny environment like GenCon or something similiar the App not being allowed, but yeah...i have the App and i could have looked it up, but there was no effort on the end of my opponent to offer up a copy. it annoyed me, and i got further annoyed when he brushed it off with "its just playing for fun"

I would be fine with that, if you would be okay if I DQed you if for some reason you could not pull-up or show the card on your phone; say like a dead battery. I doubt if most players would be okay with what I just said, so then bring the hard copy and we have no problem.

I seriously can't figure out what you put there that got PONY-ed?!?!?

At that point, make sure you play with a Book of the Skull...remove all of your character cards and ask him to remember which of your figures have which hammers.
and to clarify, the Tourny game wasnt anything special, the turn out was only 4 players (Seahawks Game kept most away), and the prizes were nothing special (something or another from Collateral Damage)...
so i guess a good question would be if i should actually raise a bit of stink if this would to happen again? i am not much of a stink raiser, but i feel i should have the ability to tell my opponent he isnt allowed to use that ATA or similiar Carded effect in question unless he provides some sort of copy (PnP or App)
i feel that we pay a good amount of money most times for the Clix that we play. as such a small respect for the Rules should be maintained. heck, in the end i wouldnt care of someone wrote the freaking thing on a piece of paper and call it a day. as long as they have something representing the Card in question.

In my opinion, I would say something, though I would try and do it without going straight to the stink.
There are legitimate reasons for you as an opponent to wish to see those cards, not the least of which being that you (theoretically) don't know the effects in question. Intentionally or unintentionally, many of us simply skim over some important details of effects resulting in a skewing of what should actually be happening. This can work for or against either player depending on the circumstance.
Example, I played a guy once who was using M&M Danger. I wasn't too familiar with her. I asked what her SP did. "Oh, your guys can't have their combat values modified if she can see you." Well, I'm holding an object and ready to smack someone, so I Outwit that power and shove a man-hole into someone's face. Now, if we hadn't just gone off of his summary of the effect, it would have been noticed that such a move on my part was illegal as the SP goes on to prevent countering Danger's powers.
As it has been said in the thread already, ask the judge. It is not your call to say whether something is allowed or not. True the tournament rules may say so but, they mainly apply to an official Wizkids event. Your venue may have specific house rules so speak to the judge before raising a stink.
