2) When you vote, please do so by saying Vote: [Player] in bold. If you wish to change your vote, please say Change Vote: [Player] instead. Voting for 'No lynch' is a valid vote; if a majority votes for 'no lynch' then nobody will be lynched and we'll move on to the Night phase. You can vote for yourself if you choose, so be careful when leaving your vote with another player.
3) Every night you either PM me your target or PM me that you are choosing not to do an action. Some roles REQUIRE you to submit an action or target--so keep that in mind.
4) If you fail to send me a target, I'll pick one randomly. Or, perhaps, not-so-randomly. I tend to pick in favor of those who participate...
5) You may NOT send a PM to anyone about this game unless your role explicitly says you can. This is cheating.
6) Do NOT edit your posts in this thread. This is cheating.
7) Please do not copy-and-paste anything from any PM I send you to the thread. This is also cheating.
8) Please do not post in this thread after you are killed. This, too, is cheating and can ruin the game if done wrong. Additionally, there are several possible resurrection mechanics that exist which may or may not come in to play.
9) Remember, it's just a game. You will get paranoid, you will be stabbed in the back by someone, you will see somebody do or say something stupid and want to smack them. Just breathe deep and relax. You win some, you lose some.
10) If you are inactive for more than two phase cycles, I will automatically look to replacing you. If I cannot find a replacement, I will start selecting random targets for you.
11) I am planning on a 48 hour to 72 hour cycle: 24 - 36 hours for a day phase which should consistently close in the evenings during standard mountain time, 24 hours to get in actions, and 1-12 hours for me to open the thread.
12) gfishfunk's Order of Operations- or "solving paradoxes consistently"
Jailkeep > Guide > Busdrive > Roleblock > Misdirect > Push > Hide > timestamp > all other actions.
This schematic only matters where a conflict would occur. Guide is listed nearly first to indicate that a guided action will pierce anything except jailkeep. Timestamp refers to whoever submitted their actions first.
Example: Jim RB Lolita, Lolita MDs Jim. Jim will succeed.
Example: Jim busdrives Lolita and Shaniquq, Rei busdrives Lolita and Tim. Alfanso attempts to nightkill Lolita. Who will die? It depends on which busdrive happens first. The timestamp on the submitted actions will determine. If Jim submitted his action first, then Tim will die.
13) Meta-gaming is as acceptable as other players believe it to be. They will likely lynch you or night kill you in a different game. Who am I to define the right or wrong way to play?
Write-ups will have some linear story in them, but with actual actions from players interspersed. Here are several rules of thumb for this game.
A. If I identify people by name in the write-up, its a part of the linear story. If I leave identities vague, its probably having to do with a player action. Harry Potter will always be mentioned by name, though, from his Point of View.
B. You cannot target, kill, or lynch the mod. Go ahead and try if you want. Town members who stay in the game will befriend Harry Potter, while other neutrals who stay in the game will hinder him.
C. People won't die - rather, they will get detention, injured, or otherwise dissuaded from assisting Harry Potter throughout the story.
D. If this goes well, I will do follow-up games whose story stems from the results of this game.
Sirius and Harry stopped and turned around just in time to see Hagrid striding up through Diagon Alley, like a glacier cutting through waters of people. He descended on them and patted Harry’s head, in an attempt to ruffle his hair, but accidentally knocking him prone. Sirius gave him a friendly pat on the arm.
“I know I am a wizard,” Harry replied as he dusted himself off/
“Yeh, but yer comin’ to Hogworts, so now yer really a wizard! But innit a bit early to buy yar book?”
Sirius nodded a single, precise nod in acknowledgement, as was his custom. “I have some business at Gringots, in an advisory capacity,” Sirius said flatly, but not unkind.
“Ah, Dumbledore told me yeh advising on something. Somethin’ bout vault seven hundred and thirteen?”
“What’s in that vault?” Harry asked, ears perking up now that he knew something was being kept from him.
“Nothing for you to mind yourself with,” Sirius replied, but then characteristically added, “Auror business, about special security features for one vault. Now don’t go telling anyone Harry. This is not the sort of thing I want others knowing about.” He checked his watch, then frowned. “But ah, I’m running late. Ah, Rubeus, would you mind terribly taking Harry to Olivander? I’m running late and he should be closing soon.”
Harry’s heart fell just a fraction that Sirius would not be with him when he was fitted for his first wand, but that was typical for Sirius. He seldom cared to monument an occasion. Instead, he preferred to share information and instruction with Harry, something Harry had learned to value far more. While this won disapproval from others (notably Remus Lupin), Harry had already learned all sorts of tidbits about magic theory, potions, and the like. Harry threw on an optimistic mask as Hagrid led him to Olivander’s.
There was the usual show (Harry had ducked in to watch some older kids go through the motions last year). Ollivander pulled out a Maple and Pheonix hair wand that set a stack of pages on fire, then an ebony unicorn hair wand that did not seem to work well before pulling out… “Holly and phoenix feather, eleven inches, nice and supple.”
The wand felt oily in Harry’s hands, a little too warm to the touch. With a swish of the wand, the room seemed to darken for a moment, then light returned. “Yes, yes,” Ollivander said, paying close attention. “An unusual combination. Close, but not close enough. Just as if you are missing something – well I suppose it would suit someone more – but no matter.” Ollivander paused for a moment as if he heard something from the back of the shop. “Just a moment – I have a – it might just -- a moment,” and he had gone to the back to sort through boxes that did not at all appear to hold wands.
“How about this? A unique wand – should work in theory – onyx tip infused in moon oil, duskwood shaft with a metal ferrule, thirteen inches” he added, “few wizards respond well to a wand that lacks a living conduit…but when they do…”
The wand felt fluid like an ocean, and just as powerful. When Harry gave it a swish, he was worried that the wand wouldn’t be able to stop. But as he brought it down, a slow roll of green and black sparks, followed by deep blue lines of light cracked out the tip. Hagrid whooped and clapped and Mr. Ollivander cried, “Bravo! Bravo!”
gfishfunk is alive and well, and now has a wand! He is Harry Potter (Town / Slytherin), a serious and meticulous student with a singular ambition.

EDIT: Reordered
"Harry Potter," called out Dumbledore, reading his name off the list.
Harry disengaged himself from the queue of first years waiting nervously for the sorting hat. He glanced over at Neville, who was already sitting with his new table of Gryffindor who were eagerly talking to him and perhaps covertly glimpse Neville's famous scar.
Neville caught him glancing and gave Harry an encouraging wave. The two practically grew up together, as Neville constantly moved about from house to house at Dumbledore's insistence. For reasons never fully explained by Sirius, Dumbledore worried constantly for Neville's safety. As he had no living relatives, he grew up a bit with the entire Order of the Phoenix (a secret Sirius gladly failed to keep from Harry). Neville said that he didn't care what house Harry joined, but Neville only had eyes for Gryffindor.
To the other side, though, he saw Draco nodding encouraging. Nearly a cousin through his God-Father, the whole Malfoy family was curtly polite to Harry Potter. The sole heir to the Black family fortune AND the Potter family fortune, Harry Potter was a boy that the Malfoys reluctantly accepted, and had made it known at the odd occasion here and there. Sirius did not like him hanging out with "the Malfoy kid", but the two got along rather well--though Draco could be a pompous elitist some times.
Just so long as Sirius did not know that they were friends.
Sirius had a way of making Harry feel guilty for having any sympathy for the nephew of the woman that put James and Lily in Mungos.
Without any sign of nervousness, Harry reached the front and turned on his heel, facing out at the two houses. The sorting hat fell onto his head.
Well, I see a lot of courage, yes, a lot of tenacity. I would say Gryffindor...but I see ambition as well. A Healer?
Yes, Harry thought. I want to be a Healer, the best Healer that Mungo's had ever seen. I want to cure the uncurable. I want to heal my mum and dad.
Ambition, yes. I could put you in Slytherin, in Professor Slughorn's House. But you would make a fine Gryffindor. Your God-Father would be proud....
No, I want Slytherin.... I want to study close under Slughorn, make the right connections, excel at potions...
"Slytherin!" The Sorting Hat yelled out. Harry could see Draco smiling, but a simple glance showed Neville was highly disappointed...
Night 0 is over! Day 1 has begun! You have about 24 hours to introduce yourself, post, and complain how I am Harry Potter.

Reason: Why do I keep typing want instead of wand? Do I want a wand?
