When there's trouble you know who to call. From their tower they can see it all. In this DC edition of Comic Accurate, we look at a lineup of the Teen Titans from way back in... 2007? Okay, not that far back, but let's work with what we've got!
2007 in DC Comics! The Amazons Attack crossover had just ended, the Countdown to Final Crisis was in full swing and Sean McKeever would take over the writing duties on Teen Titans with issue #50! Ushering in new members and a lengthy run on the title. Not necessarily a great run on the title, mind you. Sort of a bloody and angsty run (which was sort of a problem with the third volume of the title overall), but lengthy nonetheless. He was the lead writer for 20+ issues before eventually switching to writing a Ravager back-up tale for roughly ten issues.
Anyways, what we're going to be doing in this article is building the team from issue #50. We've got all the characters from the cover, along with their support team that worked in Titans Tower, Marvin and Wendy.

(Special) The Scarab: The first time in a game when Blue Beetle would take 3 or more damage from an attack, instead he does not take damage and is given an action token. (Attack) The Scarab Awakened: At the beginning of your turn, roll a d6. On a result of 5-6, until your next turn, Blue Beetle modifies his attack value by +2, can use Blades/Claws/Fangs and possesses Battle Fury. (Damage) Dimensional Perception: Blue Beetle can use Probability Control, but only for attack rolls where he is the attacker or a target of the attack.

(Special) Growing Darkness: At the end of your turn, deal Wonder Girl 1 unavoidable damage if she is adjacent to an opposing character and did not make an attack this turn. (Special) Wonder Girl's Lasso: Wonder Girl may begin the game with Wonder Girl's Lasso assigned to her by paying the point cost. This object does not count toward your object total and is scored and removed from the game when Wonder Girl is KO'd. (Speed) Pull Them Closer: Give Wonder Girl a ranged combat action as if she had a range value of 6. When she does and hits, in addition to the normal effects, place the opposing character adjacent to Wonder Girl and she may make a close combat attack as a free action targeting that opposing character.

(Speed) Batline: Robin can use Charge and Leap/Climb. When Robin uses Charge, he ignores the effects of elevated terrain on movement. (Attack) Tear Gas Grenade: Robin can use Smoke Cloud. When Robin uses Smoke Cloud, after he places all hindering terrain markers he can immediately use Incapacitate as a free action but can attack only a single opposing character occupying a square containing a hindering terrain marker he placed that turn; ignore the effects of hindering terrain on the attack.
Our build so far comes out to 561 points. From here, we tack on a few different types of tactics. First and foremost being the Wonder Girl lasso object assigned to her as explained on her card. Giving her the following perk:
Quote
This character can use Steal Energy, but is also healed when its ranged combat attack causes an opposing character to take damage.
That adds five points. Next, we add on the New Teen Titans ATA for three points each to everyone except Ravager and our bystander token:
Quote
The highest-point friendly character using this team ability can use Leadership, but may only remove action tokens from friendly characters using this team ability.
Lastly, since we're using the Arkham Asylum version Robin, we have enough points left over for Flashbang and Stunning Blow so we can use that ol' vicious combo. Robin Leap/Climbs to move, then gets to throw up a Smoke Cloud, then an Incap with his base damage that ignores the smoke/hindering. Still a nice trick. Now our build is at 597, and we can just tack on an Alias on someone. I went with Kid Devil so he can have a chance to survive long enough to attack after moving into position.
Alternately, if you're not interested in using feats and/or ATA's, you have a few options...
Option #1: Drop the feats and ATA's along with the Arkham Robin and just run the 100 point Streets of Gotham version in his place.

(Special) Snag and Drag: When Robin uses Incapacitate and hits, after actions resolve, Robin automatically breaks away and may move 4 squares as a free action and then places the hit character in an adjacent square. (Special) That's My Bike!: When Robin becomes the pilot for SoG #V002 Robincycle, the vehicle may be given a non-free action this turn. (Damage) Road to Detective: The combat values of opposing characters adjacent to Robin cannot be modified if the modification would increase the value.

(Prereq) Pilot Ability: Batcomputer-Assisted Target Detecti: Prerequisites: Batman Ally team ability or Titans team ability. Robincycle can use Enhancement. It can also use Perplex, but it can only modify its own attack and range values. (Prereq) Pilot Ability: Tear Gas Canisters: Prerequisites: Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Robin, or Robin. Robincycle can use Incapacitate. When it uses Incapacitate, if the attack hits and the result of the attack roll is doubles, you may also place an action token on 1 opposing character adjacent to the target. (Pilot) Passengers: 1
Option #3: Just drop the feats and use the Emo Robin from Crisis.

Of those choices, I'd go with anything but #1. A hundred points for no defensive power whatsoever and a shorter dial? Bleh.
Whatever choice you make, you will be running a 600 point team with alas, no theme bonus. Stupid Ravager and her wrong keyword. You'll have to try and get a house ruling from wherever you're playing this team. And of course, if you need to up the points for a 700 point game, just use Supergirl on her top dial.
That's it for this edition of Comic Accurate. Next time, we head to the Marvel Universe to visit an X-Team with XX chromosomes!
Nice write up the Titans can be alot of fun, and that Wonder Girl is real fun to play with the lasso, she just has that it factor (for me anyways) on how she plays. You know what I mean.
Certain characters just play well and roll good and that's what she is for me.Always a threat
This is the Teen Titans era I loved so much. So sad we didn't get a Ravager with Teen Titans keyword in Teen Titans, nor did we get a new Miss Martian or Red/Kid Devil. There were some great characters that joined the group during this era that we've never gotten clix of at all.

This. I literally cursed at my computer when I found out that the LE Ravager didn't have the Teen Titans kw. Keywords suck. Oh well, looks like I still need to play my Legacy Vet when I run TT teams.
I love these little write-ups as I'm quite a stickler for playing comic accurate teams as often as possible. My only nitpick here is that Wonder Girl is the Nu52 version, so this isn't really a "comic accurate" team. But given that we don't have a carded version of a proper Cassie, I'm forced to use this version on my Teen Titans teams as well.
thanks for the article, i'm glad to see more titans runs playable as a result of 2013, but i'm also sad to see that there are still so many titans runs unplayable
like many others, I blame nowhere
also, I appreciate the carboardless options at the end of the article. my group are silver age players so it's helpful to see you think thru those necessary adjustments

and once we cross this threshold (which I'm totally fine with, she's my go-to cassie) I have no problem with featless option #4:

(Attack) No Holding Back: Supergirl can use Penetrating/Pyschic Blast and the Sharpshooter ability.
I can't begin to fathom why that Ravager didn't have Teen Titans as a keyword.
Sometimes I think the keyword guy just shows up to work drunk but everyone is too polite to just send him home.
I know exactly what you mean a few examples that bug me are AA Superman Prime not having the Armor Keyword, GSX Cyclops not having the X-Force Keyword when he created the damn team, giving Sentry & Void the Avengers Keyword, and not giving the Avengers Keyword to Iron Man & Iron Patriot who IMO deserve it more then S&V do. It's funny Teen Titans was thie week's Comic Accurate since I ran a TT team yesterday.
