Day 31: Before Dawn; on an alternate Earth in another reality where heroes and villains from several universes are being deposited.

Black Bolt had been beside himself ever since Medusa had first disappeared. Without his woman; his better half, he'd found it difficult to rule.

Not long after Medusa disappeared, most of the population of Attilan disappeared, including their Alpha Primitive servants.

Then Lockjaw disappeared, still later Crystal. Now there was no one left save Karnak, Gorgon, Triton and mad Maximus.

Black Bolt scarcely had a reason to live.

Anguished, he gave in to a lapse in self control and flew off into the stratosphere where he flew into a rift in reality.

Sergei Kravinoff wondered where he was. He was enjoying more clarity then he'd known in a very long time.

Somehow he knew that he: Kraven the Hunter, was back on Kraven's terms. His sanity was restored and was no longer immortal. Kraven could be killed and so now, ----- Kraven could begin to enjoy life again.

Now he could have that characteristic sense of danger that gave him his best cathartic moments. No longer did he need Spiderman to end his miserable existence. Kraven was no longer miserable.

Where was he? Star City? Where was Star City? He never heard of Star City. Bah! It was the Americans. They had too many cities.

Kraven craved the hunt, so he eschewed the city he was faced with and decided to invade the surrounding wilderness to see what he could stalk.

Kraven had barely fled the scene when Black Bolt appeared. Black Bolt was certain that what had just happened to him was exactly the same as what must have happened to Medusa, Crystal and Lockjaw.

Black Bolt didn't even care about his surroundings. He put out a mental call for Lockjaw to come to him.

Lockjaw;engaged in a futile chase after phantom rabbits along with Krypto, heard the call from Black Bolt and stopped suddenly from the chase. The phantom rabbits disappeared, causing Krypto to stop short to look back at his new friend.

Lockjaw blipped away to collect Black Bolt, temporarily forgetting about Krypto.

Kraven ran off into the wilderness which was wilder then he expected modern day California to be. But Star City was an isolated bulwark of civilisation while the surrounding area was dominated by an atmosphere of the old West, post Civil War era.

Kraven came upon a Pomo village. He was shocked when a villager spoke to him in a broken Russian dialect.

After talking to the natives, Kraven learned that the village had once been visited by Russian explorers who partially taught the language to the natives. Kraven wondered how this was even possible when a modern city of the twenty first century was only miles away. They offered him food and shelter.

Kraven repayed the Pomo's hospitality by slaying a grizzly bear that was plaguing them with his bare hands.

Black Bolt was extremely gratified to see Lockjaw when his pet appeared.

He took Lockjaw by the scruff of his neck and told his pet to take Black Bolt directly to Medusa.

Lockjaw complied.

Lockjaw teleported Black Bolt directly into a scenario that stirrred Black Bolt's ire immediately.

He came upon his beloved Medusa with her hair completely shorn. She was actually sobbing in the throes of sleep.

Nearby was a brutish man sleeping in Black Bolt's throne while holding a leash leading to a collar attached to Black Bolt's beloved.

Crystal was not far off, bound and gagged.

A strange woman clad in green with a a huge floating eye (also green) demanded to know who Black Bolt was.

Black Bolt responded first by dissolving the chains on his beloved.

Krypto was confused at first by the sudden disappearance of his new friend.

Where did the rabbits go? Where did his friend go?

It wasn't too long; however, before he heard and smelled his new friend. What happened? How'd his friend get inside that building? Not a problem, Krypto would fly up to that high window and look in. He saw his friend Lockjaw standing beside a black clad man who seemed very powerful.

Krypto became excited and burst through the window to join them.

Black Bolt decided that the major threat was the green clad woman and left it to Lockjaw to deal with the other.

The Persuader woke up to discover a giant mastiff dripping dog drool all over his groggy visage and effectively pinning him down away from the Persuader's axe.

The Emerald Empress was taken by surprise by the fierceness of Black Bolt's attack and when Krypto burst in through a high rise window, that was too much for her own nerves. A superdog and a black clad magician warrior with a demon dog as well?

The Emerald Empress decided that discretion was the better part of valor and after collecting the hapless Persuader and his axe, the two villains fled.

Orion, Big Barda, Hercules and Wonder Woman emerged from the Boom Tube to a strange palatial building.

Orion stormed ahead of the others to angrily confront the being called Captain Beyond. Orion attempted to grab the man by his lapel but found that he could not quite seem to lay hands on the man.

Captain Beyond looked benevolently on Orion and suddenly the rage that constantly consumed the Son of Darkseid was quelled. Orion had never felt so calm in his life.

Eventually Orion's three companions caught up to him. They too were beseiged by an overwhelming sense of peacefulness and contentment.

Wonder Woman asked Captain Beyond if he would be so kind as to identify who was behind the abductions of everyone to this reality.

Captain Beyond simply smiled sadly and said "I'd tell you if I could."

He then summoned a feast for the four of his guests and bade them to indulge, which Hercules did with gusto.

When they were done, Captain Beyond ordered Orion's mother box to summon another Boom Tube to take the four home.

Superman arrived on Oa and was met by Supergirl, Kilowog, and the Son Of Darkseid Superman.

After hugging his cousin and shaking Kilowog's hand, he turned to confront his doppleganger.

The Son of Darkseid Superman looked on a little jealously when Kara hugged her own reality's cousin but was struck by the amazing resemblance this other Superman had to himself. He'd been told of this but had not quite given it credence until now.

The two men shook hands and the SoD Superman; who'd been raised by Darkseid to be aggressive, attempted to subdue the newcomer with his powerful grip.

Superman met his twin power for power and the SoD Superman was forced to acknowledge that the newcomer was every bit his equal.

Finally they sat down to talk.

The Inhumans didn't quite know what to make of the tiny white dog in the red cape that had burst through the window and helped drive the two intruders away.

Compared to Lockjaw, the dog seemed very small but Lockjaw seemed to cause no harm to the little fellow as they scuffled playfully.

Whatever, Medusa ordered the window to be repaired while the two lovebirds went off to reacquaint themselves with each other.

Crystal called F.F. headquarters to inform Sue and Johnny Storm that Black Bolt had arrived. Sue and Johnny wanted to know where he first appeared at but Crystal didn't know that. She forgot to mention the tiny little dog with the red cape that had turned up.

Kraven was curious and intrigued by the fact that somehow, despite the presence of that modern coastal city that he appeared at, he seemed to be in the old American West. He thanked the Pomo Indians for their hospitality and after they provided Kraven with a mount, he rode off to explore the area.

After riding for some time, he entered into a Western settlement. the town seemed to be built around some thriving silver mines.

As he rode in he drew attention from several loafing cowpokes over Kraven's outlandish garb. They began laughing and pointing at Kraven and calling him a dude. Then they saw that the mount Kraven rode had no saddle and only a blanket and they began deride Kraven even more as an Indian lover.

Kraven dismounted his horse and moved to confront the cowpokes.

One of the cowpokes decided Kraven ought to dance so he pulled his six shooter and began firing bullets at Kraven's feet.

Kraven fired an electro blast at the foolish cowpoke from his lion head vest which killed the cowpoke instantly.

Kraven moved with lightning speed and demolished the other five cowpokes.

Kraven then marched into the saloon and loudly demanded vodka.

Talok VIII and Rann eached received their second wave of populous. These being those who operated in middle tier management positions in whatever they did.

They; like the last group needed to be reassured by the resident superheroes that they were in no imminent danger from anything in their new circumstances.

On Rann, Moondragon telepathically calmed them.

On Talok VIII, Saturn Girl did the same.
