I was watching TNG, and I saw an episode called "The Defector." In it, a Romulan defects to the Federation because he's learned some secret and would like to avoid a war.
Interestingly enough, he's a highly skilled captain in Attack Wing, and the Romulan who was sent after him is a lowly skilled captain in Attack Wing. It seemed a little interesting because I got the impression they should be reversed.
More amusing though was when the defector was lamenting about Romulus, he mentioned the beauty of the "Firefalls of Gal'Gathong." I did a search, and found that this is the only time that Gal'Gathong is mentioned in the series, which was interesting since the until-recently-unnamed Romulan ship coming out this month has the same name. I remembered talking with people about how it was disappointing that WK didn't "invent names" for the ship's unnamed captain and crew, and now it seems even weirder since they apparently invented a name for the ship.
It was a good episode though, worth checking out if you get bored in Netflix.
He also mentions a place on romulus called Apnex, which i believe is the only mention of that, and where the science vessel gets the name
(I don't think it was named in the episode it is from)
The universe is governed by a tendency toward disorder, we refer to the quantification of that tendency as Entropy Boston Heroclix
Both Apnex and Gal'Gathong are ships in Decipher's Star Trek CCG from over 10 years ago. I don't know where they got the names from, if they were 'official' or if they were just allowed to make them up or what. But the captain of the Gal'Gathong has a name as well. He was played by the same actor who played Sarek, Spock's father, so he was named Keras.

Yeah, I read about "Keras" when I was looking some of this stuff up. I do miss playing the Decipher game though, I still have my cards. I remember when the Borg ships came out, I started getting my ass kicked by my friends.
