Hi there, I hope this doesn't get too convoluted in the way I describe it but i'll try and be as clear as possible.
OK. So I was facing my brother in a 300 point game and I was using the Trinity of Sin team base at 300 points.
Basically, it got to the point where RS and PPB were showing on my dial. So I gave ToS a power action to get 3 free actions which reads:
Give this character a power action and it may be given one action as a free action for every 100 points. These free actions may be used for any action, but you may only give the character up to 1 move action, 1 power action, 1 close combat action, and 1 ranged combat action. Any number of these free actions may be used to make either a close or ranged combat attack.
So my first free action was a Ranged Combat Action (PPB). My second free action was a Power Action (RS). My brother argues that i'm not able to do running shot because i've already used my "Range Combat Action" on the first attack... Is he right?
Anyways, I let it slide... But next turn I tried this instead.
My first free action was a Power Action (RS)
My Second action was a Ranged Combat Action (PPB)
My thought process was if I give a Power action for RS, the free action I get to do a ranged combat action is given to me via RS, NOT my Team Base free actions... Therefore, when thats over, I can do my free action Ranged Combat Action.. Am I right?
Sorry if thats a little clustered. Please help me understand this! I'm really new to team bases.
Oh and while I'm here, under the section of "Team Coordination" it reads>
At the beginning of the game when a team is part of a themed team choose: Themed Team Prob Control can be used normally or it can't be used and the team can use Prob Control.
I don't really understand this.. What are the differences? I know you get an action token if you use it the normal theme team way, so why would anyone choose to do it the normal way and not just have PC all the time?
And another thing, one of the characters (Pandora) has PC on the asset dial. Would I be able to use her PC AND the theme team PC?
At the end of your turn, you may roll a d6 and turn the asset dial that many times to the left
Now this had me really confused... I mean the most obvious thing is that the dial goes RIGHT, like every other heroclix... This one says to the left though?
Do they mean physically turn the dial left (aka clockwise like every other clix)?
I assumed the above, but my friends told me to do the opposite, and turn the dial counter close wise... They think is means it means go left visually, aka backwards...
1. You cannot use the same action as a free action twice in a turn. So if you use RS it gives you a RCA that CAN be used for PPB. But if you did PPB then, you can't use it for a seperate RC Action.
2. Post Watch List, you no longer get 1 action per 100. So sorry to burst that bubble (I cried a bit myself).
3. Depending on the TB, you may play with everyone on it OR it may work better to pop off the team members. In first case then hell yes put PC on the whole dial. If the second case do normal TTPC. And no, if you have PC on asset dial you can't use it twice a turn, but it does make it harder to make you lose it if your opponent hates you for it.
To clarify, you could Running Shot after using Penetrating/Psychic Blast, but you would not be able to use Penetrating/Psychic Blast during the Running Shot.
Also, Team Bases get 1 free action for every 200 points or fraction thereof, not 100.(As of the current Players Guide)
