A few things that stand out to me:

1. I really like how the Pylon "base" area is well defined so you can figure out overlap extremely well.

2. Hard to tell from his angle, but the 3D version may not have an "obstruction" in the core. There's something there that looks like the 360 arrow but I cannot tell if it is around an obstructed area.
[EDIT: From the other pics on Facebook, there does not appear to be a central obstruction on the 3D version.]

3. I definately want one. Even though I secured a Playmate DS9 at a fairly inexpensive price, I still may look into picking one up if my FLGS is ordering an extra. I can then give away my Playmate version as an additional Fellowship prize for Month 6 if that is the case. (I do like the ability of having sound effects in my game though ).

I understand that you can even "dock" ships on the upper pylons. I plan on doing so and will of course take many pics of it.

I had not heard that. The Playmate DS9 comes with a Ent-D that can clip onto one of the upper pylons but I had not heard the AW version was going to have this little trick. Cannot see how that will work from the pics but I love surprises!

I had seen a pic of the station with the D attached to it. I think it was on the Realms but not sure where.

That's the Playmates version. I think csi may be the one who posted it. That photo is what made me seek it out. The D from it is almost the exact same size as the AW version so I can see how you might have thought that.

What do you mean by obstruction to the core? I am very impressed by how detailed this model is compared to the crappy ship models Wizkids puts out. They went all out in this.

From the Month 1 & 6 special rules:

The main body of the DS9 Token is considered an Obstacle (see page 22 of the Full Rules of Play).

The Pylon Tokens are considered Ship Tokens/Bases with regards to Overlapping (see page 18 of the Full Rules of Play).

I won the last 5 events at the store I'm going to so I have this sucker in the bag, but HOLY CRAP is it HUGE!

Man that looks nice. I've missed too many of my events to stand a chance of getting it, though.

Wow, that looks excellent! No way I'm going to win one, but glad to see WK put some real effort into the quality of that model.

If I can score a good deal on one, I'll probably try to get either the AMT or Playmates model as a stand in, and just set it on top of the card token.
