I no longer feel the need to play Clix anymore. I am enjoying AW so much more than clix that I no longer have the feelings that I need everything that comes out in a set or the urge to hunt down missing pieces. Since I judge I did not play as much but the last two or three times I was asked I just couldn't be bothered to pull out some Avengers and do beat down. In fact I am so put off I just sold my SW FF piece to get more AW and X Wing stuff.
Anyone feel like this? Anyone else on the edge of forgetting it? ANd the worst part is I am the judge. Oh well free swag is good and gives me a chance to sell off the Lie Kung and Cable I have.

I bring my X-Wing box to all the clix events. I'll only play clix if I can't talk someone into playing X-Wing instead. If the judge doesn't play (even numbers besides him and I) we'll play X-Wing instead of clix.
I'm currently Alpha testing Golem Arcana now and, based on what I'm seeing so far, Clix will fall to 3rd place when that comes out.

Clix and Attack Wing fill very different Niches for me, especially becasue it is very easy to limit my collection for attack wing. I see no reason to need a second of most ships and I have all the ships I want. I actually enjoy the collectable aspect of HeroClix.
I've always hated it. The lack of a "collectible" model one of the (many) appeals of X-Wing and Golem Arcana.
I like having one collectible game and one non-blind game. Seems to cover all my bases. I do not have the time, money, or space to have more than 2 games at all.
I started cutting down my Clix collection last fall, and have played a bit less. What I dropped off in play time with clix has been made up in playing Attack Wing. I will still do both, just because they both fill a fanboy niche for me, but I am more prone to try to build some really cool "crush the local meta" team with AW and more likely to play stuff I like in clix. I think it has balanced me out a bit in terms of my frustration with clix that hit me last year.

What is Golem Arcana? Sounds like a fantasy game and I would be interested to learn more.

Hmm...is it weird that I got a Big Bang Theory flash just now? Specifically when Penny asks Sheldon why something must be the way he describes it.
In any case, Hair will fill in the details, but Golem Arcana is a hybrid table top/electronic battle game. Think of Warhammer meets Smallworld app. So you load the app onto a laptop/tablet (I think that's available?) which will have all the rules and figure abilities in it. You then use a special stylus and proceed to tap on all the interactive elements on the table (figure, terrain etc...) and the app will tell you all about it, possible rules, and what moves/actions are legal. It also keeps track of HP and such? There was a Kickstarter awhile back. Oh and the creator of the game is Jordan Weisman.
Should hit in July. Its a fusion between a miniatures game and an app. Basically, there will be an app that runs on smartphones, tablets, and laptops that will handle all the traditional war game stats and modifiers. You won't have to manually keep track of all the "fiddly bits" and you can just focus on the game and the strategy. The app also allows for instant updates to rules, not allowing illegal actions, and a "living" storyline as it gathers data about games being played.
Very cool concept with some very cool miniatures. Its being done by Jordan Weisman, the guy who created Battletech, Mage Knight, and HeroClix.

I haven't been able to play AW in a tournament setting, but it has been pretty enjoyable. One of my friends confessed to me last week that he was thinking of getting out of Heroclix completely in favor of Star Wars minis. I see the appeal. The games are
A.) More carefully balanced than Heroclix
B.) Cheaper to collect collection-wise (as opposed to piece-wise)
C.) Easier to pick up and understand (No 6 page "powers and abilities" card required)
D.) More dynamic movement and positioning (flying circles around each other rather than basing)
I have been playing a little Heroclix lately, and having fun with it, though I'm mildly distressed that my friends are starting to pull out.

Sounds awesome, I just hope they can keep the price point low given all the fanciness.
I'm right there with you. Ever since my daughter was born (she just turned 3), I get out to play once a month if I'm lucky. I was doing the sealed events for clix for a while, but between resources and team bases and the various Spirals of the new clix scene, I was simply not interested in playing constructed. Then they came out with AvX, a super overpriced set of starters full of characters I'd bought literally weeks before, that I would HAVE to buy in order to play the events, and I'm done.
My collection is pretty up-to-date as of IIM, but when I get out for my once-a-month game, I head for Attack Wing.
