When exactly does Critical Hit damage apply? I've always assumed its at the end of an attack. Let me illustrate my confusing scenario, please bear with me. I Mind Control a figure with the Mystic team ability (or wild card copying). I roll critical hit. The Mind Control suddenly actually does damage, therefore the Mystics team ability would apply a click to the attacking figure. My question is: can I turn off the Mystics team ability while I control the figure so that the damage cannot be reflected? As I have said, I've always thought that the damage done by Critical Hit would be applied at the end of the attack, ie: when you relinquish control of the MC'ed figure. But if the damage happens before you assume control, then my whole theory of how powerful Mind Control is against the all Mystics/WildCard team is total ####. Anyway, sorry for the long post. Any clarification would be appreciated.
FAQ, Mind Control
A critical hit while attempting to control an opposing character causes 1 click of damage for the critical and knockback, to be taken immediately, before the controlled character is assigned an action.
But how often are you rolling critical hits, that this destroys Mind Control's usefulness against Mystics?
ack, where s my earlier post?! dang, one arm you re the one misreading everything...herocomplex is one of the most reliable sources of information...he s alluding to the timing of the damage and since critical hits force knockback, the MC'd character TAKES it IMMEDIATELY before you can act with the MC'd character. you cannot ever turn off team abilities, except with the TA i mentioned earlier...
