Okay, so when playing a game with AVX Prof X we came across a timing question. I placed Professor X within 8 squares of X-Man on top clix. X-Man used hypersonic to attack then run out of the 8 squares from Prof X. Does he get the DPA because he started within 8? Or because when the action was placed he was out of the 8 squares does he only get one? Hence when do you declare what kind of action you are using? Thanks in advance for your help,
JF
In order to activate Hypersonic Speed he must be given a Double Power Action. It doesn't matter if he ENDS that action outside of Prof X range. All that matters is he began the Action within his range which Automatically switches it to a Double Power Action.

Sorry, still early morning... Yes I was using AvX Prof. X with this power (Quoted from units so be wary)
"I CAN'T LET YOU DO THIS: Professor X can use Mind Control and is not dealt unavoidable damage from it. Opposing characters within range must be given double power actions instead of power actions."
Thanks Dragon, so the action is declared at the beginning and then assigned at the end of the action correct?

The Action is declared when the Action is taken. Were you talking about assigning Action Tokens? Assigning Tokens is a (usually) related but separate issue from Assigning Actions.
If you declare the action within 8 Squares of Prof.X., then it must be given as a DPA. Where you go or what you do after that point is not relevant to this effect. It is a DPA when given.
