I guess my question has to do with timing. The rules for energy explosion state that you reduce the damage value to one. AFter it's reduced, can you perplex it up? Can it be enhanced? Does the SHIELD team ability increase ee damage?
I checked the FAQ several times one it, but I'm still confused. Thanks in advance.

Yes it is right!

Enhancement and Shield increase EE, because both work from the beginning of the action until the end and increase the damage actual done by ee (or pulse wave if you want), not the damage stated on the base. Perplex just affects the written combat value (in this case damage), which is raised by Perplex (Perplex happens before you declare EE) and then falls to 1 damage through EE.

But can you perplex up the AV before you use EE?

Sure the AV is not affected by EE!
The only thing where you cant raise AV is in combination with RCE.
