Green Lantern Ring
Relic 5-6 WILL: If the character already has the Green Lantern Corps keyword, modify all of it's combat values except damage by +1. Otherwise, this character has the Green Lantern Corps keyword, can use Willpower, and when an opposing character targets it with Outwit or Perplex, roll a d6. On a result of 4-6, ignore that effect.
How is this sounding to everyone else? To me, it reads as if you DO possess the GLC keyword you wont get Willpower and Outwit/Perplex protection but you will get +1 to your stats(not damage). But if you DON'T have the GLC keyword you wont get +1 to your stats, however you will get the keyword, Willpower and Outwit/Perplex protection.

Seems simple enough... having an extra ring isn't going to add much to what a GL can already do.
I'm a fan of the wording on this, because it's a simple if-else statement that makes logical sense.

I think they were trying to avoid the confusion that would come if the ring stated that it gave the character the Green Lantern keyword, then went on to state bonuses it gave characters with the Green Lantern keyword on the card.
I'm going to disagree here. Its a garbage wording, but to me it reads that the "otherwise" pertains to characters WITH GLC keyword not characters without GLC keyword. That is to say that "This character" (whoever is assigned the relic gains bonus A,B, and C, and if they are GLC, they also get bonus D.

That's kind of contrary to all notions of English grammar and logic.
The basic structure is...
If (the character has this) then (it gets this).
Otherwise, (it gets this).
Anyone who knows computer programming will recognize it as an if, then, else, statement. A structure that exists out of basic logic and grammar.

That's how I read it. Is there another way to read it? Also, that seems about right to me as well. +1 to stats vs Willpower and 50/50 Outwit/Perplex Protection seems a reasonable comparison. Also, keep in mind we haven't seen any GL dials yet so I wouldn't exactly be shocked if they all had say, Willpower and 50/50 Perplex/Outwit Protection as a trait.
aqhoffman- greatest post possibly ever
jtallday- Jon I wouldn't challenge you if I wasn't sure you are wrong cuz I don't have that kind of energy.
The 'otherwise' is very fishy and can be argued either way. Yay english for the loss!
But to me, it wouldn't make much sense to give a character with the Green Lantern Corps keyword, the same keyword twice, but the rest would be beneficial because not all Green Lanterns have Indomitable or Willpower, and none other than the newest ones in War of Light have the Perplex/Outwit 4-5-6 ability.
But still, within the War of Light realm, it would be redundant to give any Green Lantern the same Willpower + Perplex/Outwit 4-5-6 twice due to the ring.
So I feel it must not apply to Green Lanterns. They get the +1 to all stats minus damage, and everyone else gets Willpower + keyword + Perplex/Outwit 4-5-6.
Honestly, it feels like the ring is better on non-GLs than on GLs.
