It's time for another Tournament to say "Thanks!" to Peers for keeping his Mighty Tool up and running, so that we can play our virtual games here.
I'm submitting a poll with options for the tourney. Please sign up below and vote on the pools if you are willing to help us support Peers and keep this valuable site up and running.
My biggest concern is folks not taking an interest due to a lack of prizes for last time. If you played in/won/whatever in the last tournament, I know that I still have some earmarked stuff to swag.
It always seemed that I never really had any spare cash on hand during previous drives. I am committed to giving to this fund-raiser as I really want to show appreciation for the awesome HCUtils service that really makes these leagues possible.
I would also prefer a sealed format, but I did not choose a point level because it really depends on the set used. Captain America sealed at 300 was fine, but some sets like Fear Itself and Galactic Guardians weren't as easy to build at 300 with 2 boosters due to the prevalence of 100+ point characters even in the commons.
Even Invincible Iron Man wasn't bad at 300 due to a large number of sub-100 point figures. Not a lot under 50 to fill teams, but you usually were able to get pretty close to 300 if you wanted to.
Silver Age would be perfect for me. And I'd be more than happy to join. (As I've said elsewhere, I NEED the practice, and the only way I'll get better at this game is by playing.)
We should advertise this on the Creationmatrix site as well. The guys that play there use Peer's tool and I'm sure they would be more than happy to kick in

RPSC's M: Astonishing X-Men
DC: Deathstroke and the Secret Society of Superheroes
With Sealed Format favored more than 2-1 (so far) and donations split evenly between the $10 and $25 level, I was thinking of a way to be fair (as it can be) and deal with both of those poll results.
How would you feel about a Sealed Tournament where boosters are $5 and you could buy as many boosters as you wanted? Players who can only afford $10 and those who want to pledge $25 or more can do so.
It's obvious the player buying 5 boosters would have a possible edge over the one starting with 2 boosters. But they still have to build a team within the point allowance.
Also, with Silver Age leading the preferences. We could draft from multiple sets. 1 booster each from Inv Iron Man, Captain America, and Hammer of Thor? Sure, ok.

Happy to donate. Prefer a sealed format.
Admittedly, that thought had crossed my mind.

I don't know. Folks have hard enough feelings in Sealed. I'm ok with just two boosters but give people the choice of donation. I'm going to kick in $25 regardless.
Maybe look at having prizes based on donation level? Or just trust people to donate what they can/want.
