I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
The Good
1.) Eddie Rabbbit - back in the 80s, the country-pop crossover was a pretty common occurrence. Eddie Rabbit was a master at crossing the bridge between country and pop and this song is a prime example of that. STG, the dude's voice is smoother than sweet cream butter on a warm southern afternoon.
2.) Buddy Holly - its Buddy Holly. 'nuff said.
3.) Bottle Rockets - there appears to be some confusion here. This song is cleary called "Err-lie in the Marnin'"
4.) Elmore James - very nice
---------------------------
The Bland
5.) Harry Nilsson - I'm a fan. Really. But this song was not a good listen so early in the morning. Very sleepy.
6.) Cliff Richard - When he's good, he's very good. When he's boring, he's duller than dishwater. This song would qualify as dishwater. (I much preferred the Vanity Fair version.)
7.) Bad Company - How the hell did Bad Company end up in the bland section? I demand an investigation! Oh wait...I own this album...nevermind.
---------------------------------
The Ugly
8.) Doyle Bramhall - well, every list has at least one "WTF?" song, right?
9.) Sidestreet Reny - wait...this list has two.
May all your hits be crits!

Elmore James. Great sax and blues guitar work. Effing sweet!
Harry Nilsson – Love Harry, but this is not a favorite of mine from him.
Bad Company – A strong showing in a weak group of songs.
Eddie Rabbit – Cute song. Has some Elvis quality to it and not as bad as I thought it would be.
Buddy Holly – One of the greatest and most innovative writers and guitarists ever - but this gospel tinged song really isn’t one of the songs I play of his. In fact, I never went and put this on and left it for the whole song.
The Bottle Rockets – Mostly Meh.
Cliff Richard – I like the version by Vanity Fair better.
Doyle Bramhall – Cap, why are you putting us through this?
Sidestreet Reny – Who was that Italian guy on drums with the girlish voice?
This was a hard group to judge, none are bad, most are pretty good.
1- Elmore James: Most of the time, I don't go for the real old timers, but this is timeless and a great performance.
2- The Bottle Rockets: Roots
3- Bad Company: Nice song, a bit unexpected considering my Bad Company memories.
4- Doyle Bramhall: Not his best, but still better than a lot of others
5- Buddy Holly: Solid
6- Sidestreet Reny: I'm speechless.
7- Cliff Richard: Nice classic pop song, done well.
8- Eddie Rabbitt: Enjoyable
9- Harry Nilsson: Boring artistic stuff.
1. Bad Company
2. Harry Nilsson
3. Doyle Bramhall
4. Buddy Holly
5. Eddie Rabbit
6. Elmore James
7. Cliff Richard
8. Sidestreet Reny
9. The Bottle Rockets
Sorry I haven't been responding to you Cap'n. I usually listen to these songs at work with my wife, but work lately has not been condusive to that activity. If you need to count the votes and close this thread up, please do so. We'll probably go back when we're less busy and listen to the songs.

Wow...your voting was VERY close to the final scores.
I also think it's funny that my favorite was the bottom feeder. I may need to go listen to that again (or perhaps everyone else should!).

Perhaps he used mind control.
