dumpster placement after a charge attack

i m charging with fury and a dumpster and am b2b with my target, and i now place the dumpster back underneath fury. i know she isnt carrying it anymore, but i want it there for the +1 to defense against range attacks, is this legit? since it says to place the dumpster adjacent to the target and since i m b2b im adjacent as well. thanks in advance!
