I would much rather her have normal Wing Symbol and no Leadership Trait,
and only be 120 points.
I would use her then. At 150 points, I don't think I will.

Maybe she plays better than she seems, but somehow I don't think it would've broken the game to give her 11 Attack, 18 Defense, and/or 4 Damage frontloaded.
Admittedly I was a big supporter of this piece when she was first previewed. Well, today I faced her for the first time with my newly acquired Brotherhood pieces from DOF and Blob ate her face. Close in quickly to this piece and she simply sucks, at least for investing 150 Points. Compare her to say AvX Cyclops for 150 and she's a joke. Too bad too because I love the sculpt :( She didn't even roll Leadership successfully once (regular or via her Trait.) Felt bad for Ororo ... I kid, KO'ing pieces with Blob was all kinds of fun!

She's got a defense that can either be maxed at range at 20 or close up by 18, 2 targets with energy explosion with a base damage of 3 to primary target and 2 to any splash damage targets, and a leadership that can actually be used on most all other X-men and she's no good? Man, the expectations of people. A good player can turn this piece into a major headache.
Oh and I forgot, pushing her makes all her attack and defensive stats go up by one, giving her a potential 21 defense in situations for range and 12 for attack? come on people. Plus on click three, she's basically got hypersonic speed/pulsewave.
@exctinioners: for starters she's 150 Points of an invesment, in a 300 Point Standard Format Game that's obviously half your Team Build. Yes she can Perplex her Defense up to 20 at Range (which is great unequivocally) but 18 up close these days is not all too hard to hit with the changes to say Close Combat Expert. I'm not definite about this but last I checked you are not allowed to Transporter Attack and Pulse Wave at the same time. There may have been a Rules Update but I think that's the case; plus it's -2 to your Attack when you use Transporter. I personally don't own the piece, just speaking from experience of playing against her and it just wasn't all too difficult. Above all as I mentioned first, the Point Cost is just where I don't see the ROI

Move and attack is essentially HSS, provided you aren't adjacent to anyone, in which case you can't use M&A. And there's that -2 to atk. You are granted an ATK during M&A, not an action. Storm is my favorite X-Men, and I give this piece a 3/5... Sculpt is pretty sweet tho
This is the second time a pair of Storm were made in a single set, and in both cases, the more rare version ends up being only *slighly* more powerful for a significant point cost increase. Stick with "Future" Storm and add support for the 150, instead.
Played her in a fun game yesterday, and she is surprisingly solid even at 150. The fact that she is begging to be pushed to that 18DV really is nice.
In a 300pt game, she's probably too pricey. But in a 500 point game or higher, this is one of my favorite Storm figures for the different ways she helps her team. (Offense, Leadership AND Perplex)
She really feels like a centerpiece on the team rather than just a tertiary ranged attacker.
NOT AS GOOD AS CYCLOPS, BUT..,: Storm can use Leadership. When she does, on a result of 6 she may remove an action token from two characters if both characters have the X-Men keyword.
1. On a roll of 6, do the X-men keyworded figs need to be adjacent to Storm in order to have a token removed?
2. Can those figs be of a higher point cost than Storm?
I love both of this sets Storms. I like this one for bigger point games, as she can really make use of what this variant brings over the other. She can transport people around and remain mobile even if her RS gets countered. Her 'super leadership' is amazingly good for X-Men themed teams, and is the sort of power needed for them. Perplex to support herself and her team members like a true leader. REALLY scary defensive values at range, making her almost impossible to snipe, thus forcing opponents to REALLY focus on her with close combat, and risk facing whatever CC allies she's been carrying around ANYWAY. The shifting EE and Pulse Wave to scare enemies from clustering up. She also has a few more clix of life. She's just SO solid.
But, if you are playing 300 point games, she's just not able to fit into them as easily. That's where her other variant shines. Her trait is far more situational, but can be a thorn in peoples side. Her double EE and Force Blast power can be helpful to either wrack up damage or manipulate enemy placement a bit. Retains regular leadership, though it is far less useful. Still scary defense at a range, forcing dedicated CC attacks to get through. Stays fairly mobile with RS. Much better suited for 300 point games, but still feels weaker, as expected, by her point cost.
