The Exiles are a longstanding favorite of mine in Clix and comics. Now that we have some of the core members being created anew in Clix, particularly Blink, I'm going to take up the challenge of an ongoing KO thread for the Exiles as they bounce universes.
To date, I have a pretty solid track record with the Exiles in casual games and tournaments. However, the past is prologue. As with the Invaders, which I had plenty of experience playing prior to that thread's creation, the KOs and the win-loss records begin now.
I'm going to be playing at least one 600 point game against a friend tomorrow. The Exiles will see the tabletop against, unless he changes his mind, a Gotham City PD build.
The Tallus' instructions from the Crystal Palace?
Bring down the corrupt police regime so that heroes and villains can establish proper justice.
My original roster went with the Penguin resource (guest starring as the Timebroker?) over the Lucky Breaks and special objects, but since my friend's supposedly not using resources on his team, I'll go with this.

I went up against the following 11-part Police squad:
GCPD Motorcycle, Renee Montoya, GCPD Motor Officer, Harvey Bullock, Capt. James Gordon, GCPD Officer (Experienced), GCPD Detective (Veteran), GCPD Riot Officer (Rookie), Two-Face (70 points), Batman (Ghost, 116), and Abin Sur (50 points). There was a Legion Ring on for filler.
Somehow, I won map roll. I have no clue how. Since we got in the new Deadpool maps today, the Exiles beamed into Deadpool's House.
Blink spirited herself, Mimic, Power Princess, and Longshot to the center, setting Mimic and Power Princess up to grab the Computer and Bookcase, respectively. Morph followed, carrying Psylocke onto some hindering. While the three Blink got into position set up on the next turn, getting full coverage of that big, interior room, Blink rested.
Meanwhile, the Motor Officer jumped on his bike and most of the cops got hauled around by Abin Sur, forming a nice, little attack squad of pain near one of the map edges.
Morph ran interference, as is his usual wont: jump in, jump around, and jump in a grave. However, Power Princess whacked Captain Gordon and fast before Morph, who was unable to Shape Change thanks to Bullock, was taken out.
Mimic then circled around, able to wipe out Renee and reactivate my Leadership and Carrying. Power Princess took down Dent, and Mimic knocked out Bullock.
With the biggest threats out of the way except for Abin Sur and the Batman Ghost, the rest went pretty well, overall. Blink was taking 3-point smacks on folks every other turn. Longshot took out the GCPD Officer, and Blink finished off the Detective.
That's when Batman took out a Psylocke on a suicide run. She put herself between Batman and a second click Power Princess to save the purple-suited Wonder Woman knockoff.
Mimic then smashed the Motorcycle. He would proceed to swing with it a turn or two later. Longshot wiped out the Riot Officer (finally! That guy's a pain!). . . only to fall to Abin Sur taking a few painful shots.
Blink wiped out the Motor Officer, and a nearly down Power Princess finished off an injured Batman (he'd been getting plinked around by Power Princess, Longshot, and Mimic). A second click Mimic then finished off Abin Sur with a Dumpster.
A great way to start an Exiles KO list!
Game 1
Morph, Psylocke, and Longshot defeated Exiles KOs: GCPD Motorcycle, Renee Montoya, GCPD Motor Officer, Harvey Bullock, Capt. James Gordon, GCPD Officer (Experienced), GCPD Detective (Veteran), GCPD Riot Officer (Rookie), Two-Face (70 points), Batman (Ghost, 116), and Abin Sur (50 points). Total Exiles KOs: 11 in 1 game Win-Loss record: 1-0
Today's tournament had folks building 600 point teams with no Resources, Team Bases, and Colossals. We had to make our teams match a song title. I went with Paul McCartney's "Band on the Run," with the Exiles.
This was my first real tournament I've been in for some time thanks to a lack of funds and a need to judge more than play. My first round was at the Avengers Tower Outdoor map, against the following:
Takion, Iron Monger 2.0, Copycat, Superior Spidey, and 2 each of Spider-Bots Mk. 1 and 2. Song was "Fake It."
Copycat chose Blink. So, from turn 1, there went my team's primarily mobility and second string attacker. Ouch. The game didn't go terribly well overall after, but here's the play by play.
It started well, at least! The team ganged up on Takion, and Longshot got the first shot of the game off well with double-sixes! Iron Monger then whacked Longshot.
Copycat knocked out a Spider-Bot, and Power Princess finished off Takion after she and Mimic swapped hits on him with a Dumpster.
Superior Spidey then took out a meddling Psylocke. I had to use up Copycat's Lucky Break there to try to hit, and another Bot pushed out. Iron Monger took out Mimic, and the traitorous Blink ate Morph alive.
This is when Power Princess, enraged, did smite a Spider-Bot.
Iron Monger finished off Power Princess, and Blink took down Copycat before time was called.
Game loss.
Game 2
Copycat (Borrowed Exile!), Longshot, Psylocke, Mimic, Morph, and Power Princess KOed.
Exiles KOs: Two Spider-Bots (unsure of number designation) and Takion Total Exiles KOs: 14 in 2 games Win-Loss record: 1-1
Game 2 of the day saw me against a nasty SHIELD team highlighting G. W. Bridge and friends. Song was "Secret Agent Man." I won map roll, and I immediately lamented not having a really, really tight, close quarters map or Shadowland Dojo on me in my bag. Thus, in order to try to minimize my being shot full of holes, I grabbed up the Birds of Prey Clock Tower, an old favorite, and positioned myself in the bottom right of the big blue "T" of elevated.
G. W. Bridge, Brother Voodoo, Deadpool gravity Daredevil, Black Widow (114 from Cap 2), Bullseye 110 + Dark Avengers ATA (brought in with Bridge), and War Machine 125 (Variable Threat Analysis piece).
The entire team jumped on a too close Brother Voodoo hard and fast; Mimic got the final blow.
This is when I started getting picked apart by Outwit, long range, and Prob.
Black Widow ended up finishing Power Princess, who was running interference. Daredevil finished Blink. War Machine lit up Psylocke.
Longshot managed to knock out G. W. Bridge, at least, before Black Widow stuck Morph to a wall and Bullseye perforated Longshot.
Game loss.
Game 3
Power Princess, Mimic, Blink, Psylocke, Morph, and Longshot defeated.
Exiles KOs: Brother Voodoo and G. W. Bridge Total Exiles KOs: 16 in 3 games Win-Loss record: 1-2
The final game of the tournament saw me matched against a fairly new player running a team he clearly wasn't used to playing: Thunderbolts! This time, at Crime Alley, the Exiles' mission was to stop the time-and-space-displaced Thunderbolts from stopping Bruce Wayne's parents from surviving, so Bruce could become Batman. Or some such.
Deadpool 135, Spped Demon 110, Kuurth 199 with Juggernaut 115 and Kuurth's Hammer on revert, Punisher 100 (Deadpool set), SHIELD Support 10, and Air Force Airman 10. Song: "Thunderstruck."
This was a bit more in my favor. We went toe to toe in the street, with Kuurth getting beaten down fast by Psylocke and Power Princess and finished by Longshot. Power Princess then charged in on Punisher with the Dumpster. WHAAAAANG. She then flattened one poor Airman token with the same.
Speed Demon managed to KO Morph while pushing out.
Mimic then zipped in to finish Deadpool off with a borrowed Dumpster. Afterward, with nothing else to do, the player conceded the defeat of his SHIELD bystander.
Game win! Total was something like 6th or so out of 12.
Game 4
Morph defeated.
Exiles KOs: Kuurth, Punisher, Air Force Airman, Deadpool, SHIELD Support Total Exiles KOs: 21 in 4 games Win-Loss record: 2-2
Later that evening, shortly before the store was to close, another friend asked for a casual 800 points game.
800 points.
Usually, when folks ask for that much, they're packing beatsticks. To be safe, I grabbed the following:
Wolverine 125 (AvX Starter) + Automatic Regeneration 12
Gambit 118
Bishop 100
Deathbird 95 (allowed to have theme for the game since he based most of the team off an X-Men poster in the comic shop)
Iceman 95
Storm 89
Nightcrawler 80
Northstar 75 + The Hand 7
Somehow, I won map roll. We ended up, fittingly, in the WatX Danger Room.
Gambit swapped out my Dumpster for a standard light immediately.
The game, what we got to play of it before the shop closed, was a massacre. There was no way he could deal with Hyperion, honestly.
Hyperion crushed Gambit for 7 on first hit.
Around this time, Spidey got knocked onto his stop click and never left it from then on.
Blink finished off an injured Northstar (Psylocke got to him first), and Hyperion then one-shotted Deathbird.
Wolverine managed to Flurry/Blades/Battle Fury Morph to death after being knocked to a Regeneration click and having healed mostly back up.
Hyperion beat down Nightcrawler (we forgot Kurt's defensive Prob, but I needed a 6 with ample theme Probs and Longshot nearby), Blink burned out her Lucky Break, and Iceman pushed out.
Psylocke then polished off an injured Bishop as the shop was turning out the lights.
Game win, but I agreed not to drop Hyperion on him again at a game that high against X-Men.
Game 5
Morph defeated.
Exiles KOs: Gambit, Northstar, Deathbird, Nightcrawler, Bishop Total Exiles KOs: 26 in 5 games Win-Loss record: 3-2
So there you have it, Exiles fans! 3-2 and 26 KOs in 5 games. Off to a good start, I think.
I went first, setting up on behind one end of the central, walled area; the other player went second, doing the same. On the second turn, Sasquatch Hypersoniced in, dealing the first damage to Mon-El. This led to Nocturne following behind for tie-up and distraction, as well as the rest of the team following after save Blink, who stayed behind to blink in and out.
Nocturne was the first to fall, taken down by ninjas. It was followed shortly by Blink doing the final hit to Mon-El.
One of the two ninjas retaliated, finishing Sasquatch off with a lucky Blades hit and choosing to gain Regeneration. However, with said ninja pushed out, the Regeneration proved useless; Blink and an injured, Perplexing Spidey 2099 double-teamed the two ninjas, with Blink taking out one and Spidey the other.
Game 6
Sasquatch and Nocturne defeated.
Exiles KOs: Mon-El (200) and 2x Snakeroot Clan Ninja (50 each)
Total Exiles KOs: 29 in 6 games
Win-Loss record: 4-2
Bedovian 115
Lyssa Drak 91
Romat-Ru 77
Green Power Battery with White Ring and Decoy
Blink started things off by moving the team into position. However, an early shot on Spidey saw Nocturne having to spend the next few turns to get him back in the mix, pushing out while doing so. Afterward, Spidey took down Lyssa with a good Charges/Blades combo. Blink pushed out trying to deal with Romat-Ru, and then Spidey crushed the Bedovian, who neglected to use the White Ring's reviving power. Sasquatch ultimately nearly KOed Romat-Ru, and then she had to finish the job thanks to the White Ring's abilities.
Game 7
Blink and Nocturne defeated
Exiles KOs: Lyssa Drak, Bedovian, and Romat-Ru
Total Exiles KOs: 32 in 7 games
Win-Loss record: 5-2
War Machine 137
Iron Man 125
Invisible Woman 110
Vision 95
Captain America 90
Wolverine 90
Firestar 81
Maria Hill 72
Broken Drone, 2 Heavy Objects
I got most of my pieces to the center of the board on my first turn thanks to Blink and Magik, leaving Sasquatch to come up the side. Meanwhile, the Avengers came forward to the first intersection and split up. Magik pushed to take out a wall section, setting up an early offensive rush that led to Blink ultimately KOing Iron Man.
About this time, Spider-Man and Sasquatch were on the other side of the map moving to intercept Cap, Firestar, Wolverine, and War Machine. They held their own long enough for Magik to join them, with Blink teleporting in and out as necessary. Spidey KOed Cap.
Meanwhile, Mimic, on the far end, took out Invisible Woman and then came zipping up a back hall to smash Wolverine with a dumpster. Calvin then turned his aggressions on Firestar, flattening her nicely, too.
Magik ended up closing on Maria and taking her out with a whack, and Juggernaut and Vision traded blows until Juggernaut took down the android.
A win!
Game 8
No Exiles defeated
Exiles KOs: Vision, Invisible Woman, Captain America, Wolverine, Maria Hill, Firestar, War Machine, and Iron Man
Total Exiles KOs: 40 in 8 games
Win-Loss record: 6-2
I made a BIG mistake in this Exiles vs. Assassins matchup: I misread the crater as a column. This meant that Deadshot got a turn 2 snipe on Psylocke, knocking her down to click 6 right off the bat.
Otherwise, Spidey and Blink went after Deadshot fast, with Spidey nailing him with Blades and Blink getting the KO. Sasquatch then Hypersonically Sped across the map to whack Lady Deadpool and then finish her off a couple of turns later.
Spidey was then assaulted hard and fast by Elektra. . . knocking him onto the first of his Thor clicks. He and Longshot flattened Elektra fast, with Longshot getting the finisher. Then, Spidey KOed Outlaw in one good hit. Ezio finished off the injured, charging Psylocke, and Sasquatch sidestepped in for the kill with Blades.
Game 9
Psylocke defeated
Exiles KOs: Deadshot, Ezio, Outlaw, Elektra, Lady Deadpool
Total Exiles KOs: 45 in 9 games
Win-Loss record: 7-2
The game met in the middle of the intersection, basically, where I'd put my water hydrant and where I ultimately camped. Hyperion got an early smack on the team base due to the player's having forgotten the double-perplex. However, Pyro then landed a couple of back to back penetrating Energy Explosion shots, ultimately smoking Nocturne AND Hyperion fast, and hurting Longshot.
Longshot then took out Pyro, dividing shots between Pyro and an approaching Blob. The other player then popped off Quicksilver, tried for an ineffective Hypersonic through water against Longshot, and put him back on the base in exchange for a late-dial Scarlet Witch, since the team base was already in the rookie section by then.
Blink then KOed the team base, and the Witch took down Longshot with Ranged Combat Expert. This left a top-dial Blink against a top-dial Mystique, a late-dial Blob, and a late-dial Witch.
It was all about positioning from then on, with Blink blinking in and out on alternating turns. She took down the Witch first, then Blob, and then went toe to toe to take down Mystique, who failed her Shape Change rolls and dropped fast.
Game 10
Hyperion, Longshot, and Nocturne defeated
Exiles KOs: Brotherhood of Mutants, Scarlet Witch, Pyro, Blob, Mystique
Total Exiles KOs: 50 in 10 games
Win-Loss record: 8-2
Lesson #1: Never, ever, EVER loan out my Gamma Bomb to fill in the last 5 points on the other person's side.
Lesson #2: Get quick resolution as to how Crystal's "Fire" power works, as I'm currently investigating this with WizKids and in the Rules section here.
The game was a little long, with a lot of tactical positioning, but when the Gamma Bomb went off, it ripped my team apart.
Blink KOed Karnak early, followed by a rush of Longshot and Sasquatch toward Black Bolt. He promptly Pulse Waved. . . and killed his injured doggie.
Blink then whacked Medusa. Everything's looking great, right?
Then the Gamma Bomb fried an injured Blink, Sasquatch, and Spidey all at once. It knocked Longshot to back dial fast.
This left Longshot against Karnak and Crystal. I had the opportunity to get a final KO on last-click Karnak, but I instead went for Regeneration on Longshot, trying to stay in the game, and rolled a 2. Crystal fried him after.
Game 11
All Exiles KOed
Exiles KOs: Karnak, Medusa
Total Exiles KOs: 52 in 11 games
Win-Loss Record: 8-3
600 points of Exiles vs. X-Men tonight at the Negative Zone Prison.
Mimic 148 + Alias 3
Power Princess 107
Sasquatch 99
Blink 86 + Contingency Plan 12 + Inside Information 4
Longshot 75 + Inside Information 4
Green Lantern Battery 2 + Green Lantern Ring 8 + Crossbow 10 + Catapult 10 + Nurse 10 + Scissors 8 + Shield 8 + Decoy 6 (All Green Constructs)
vs.
Colossus 175 (AvX)
Cyclops 150 (AvX)
Emma Frost 125 (AvX)
Magik 125 (AvX)
Green Lantern Battery 2 + Orange Ring 6 + Catapult 10 + Decoy 6 (Both Green Constructs)
The game was short, with the groups meeting in the middle and throwing dice at each other before time was called at the end of the night. A combination of Mimic with an Ultra Heavy and a follow-up with Power Princess saw Cyclops pounded into paste. Colossus and Magik then double-teamed Power Princess, taking her out, and Sasquatch polished off Colossus before the end of the game.
Game 13
Power Princess KOed
Exiles KOs: Cyclops, Colossus
Total Exiles KOs: 58 in 13 games
Win-Loss Record: 10-3
I ran a different sort of Exiles roster at 600 points tonight, on the Grid Reality "The Camp" map, against a friend's Yugi Moto pieces. At my friend's request, I minimized the feats I ran (he was getting tired of losing to Contingency Plan!) and didn't bust out a resource.
Gaia the Dragon Champion 225
Dark Magician 175
Dark Magician 150
Mystical Elf 50
My Exiles team wasn't a BAD lineup, overall. It just didn't have anything that could readily deal with the melee brutality of Gaia or the extreme long range sniping of the 175 Dark Magician. My friend softened up various pieces in sequence instead of hammering hard on any one target.
Mimic was the first to fall to Gaia.
The 150 Dark Magician then polished off a melee-swinging Sasquatch.
Gaia then finished Power Princess, who had come in to take some swings.
Longshot managed to take down the 150 Dark Magician!
And then the 175 Dark Magician fried Longshot and Gaia beat down an injured Blink.
Game loss!
Game 14
All Exiles KOed
Exiles KOs: Dark Magician (150)

Two Exiles game last Saturday--one a loss, one a win, and some KOs!
Game 15 was 800 points.
Spider-Man 2099 160 + Spider-Man Family ATA 3
Mimic 148
Sasquatch 119
Power Princess 107
Morph 90
Blink 86 + Contingency Plan 12
Longshot 75
Bookcase, Computer, Dumpster 0
vs. the Heroes for Hire!
Silver Sable 100 + Contingency Plan 12
Shroud 99
Luke Cage 98
Misty Knight 85
Cat 81
Iron Fist 80
Black Cat 65
Colleen Wing 55
Tarantula 51
Heroes for Hire ATA 72
Light object, Desk, Meteorite
at Flooded Wakanda. I won map roll and thought I had enough mobility to be OK. I was mostly right.
I took up residence on one of the central islands quickly, and the Heroes crept forward through the water. Spidey, after getting smacked, ended up poisoning out Shroud, who'd gotten too close. Mimic then took down Misty Knight.
This is when Exiles began falling left and right thanks to the continual onslaught of the ATA.
Blink, injured, was taken down by Tarantula's poison.
Cat took Spidey out after Miguel hit his Thor clicks.
Cage got a lucky smash on Morph.
Cat then followed up his beatdown by flooring Power Princess.
Silver Sable got a good shot or two on Longshot.
Colleen pushed out while KOing Sasquatch.
Mimic at least redeemed things a little bit by KOing Silver Sable, but the Cat followed him around and knocked him out, too.
Game 15
All Exiles KOed
Exiles KOs: Shroud, Misty Knight, Silver Sable
Total Exiles KOs: 62 in 15 games
Win-Loss Record: 10-5 (66.66%)
The next game was 400 points of Exiles vs. Violet Lanterns, at Apokolips. I grabbed a good, random map from the bag and said, "Let's go."
Morph 90
Blink 86 + Lucky Break 5
Spider-Man 2099 80
Longshot 75 + Inside Information 4
Green Lantern Power Battery 2 + Green Ring 8 + Green Crossbow 10 + Green Nurse 10 + Green Boxing Glove 8 + Green Scissors 8 + Green Shield 8 + Green Decoy 6
vs.
Fatality 180
Guy Gardner 103
Miri Riam 85
Violet Lantern Power Battery 2 + Orange Ring 6 + Violet Catapult 10 + Violet Stop Sign 8 + Violet Scissors 8
at Apokolips, as mentioned.
The game didn't take terribly long. The hardest part was knowing how to maneuver around three folks with special powers giving variable amounts of Mystics damage. Spider-Man's Outwit would ultimately prove very useful in taking care of those. Blink used Lucky Break early on in her offense to help land a hit. Then, Longshot took down Guy fast.
Miri got in the finishing blow on a sacrificial Morph who was acting as goopy tie up.
Longshot then finished off Miri, and Blink KOed Fatality.
Win!
Game 16
Morph KOed
Exiles KOs: Fatality, Guy Gardner, Miri Riam
Total Exiles KOs: 65 in 16 games
Win-Loss Record: 11-5 (68.75%)
Game 17 last night! Exiles vs. Sinestro Corps at Wundagore Mountain!
600 points.
Spider-Man 2099 160
Power Princess 107 + Alias 3
Sasquatch 99
Blink 86 + Lucky Break 5
Longshot 75 + Alias 3
Red Power Battery + Ring, Boxing Glove, Crossbow, Scissors, Nurse, Decoy, and Catapult
vs.
Sinestro 250
Mongul 176
Lyssa Drak 91
Sinestro Corps Recruit 50
Red Power Battery + Sinestro Corps Ring and Red Nurse, Scissors, and Decoy
We met a little closer to the other player's starting area than mine, with Blink leading the way. . . with a miss. This left her nicely stranded, requiring me to send in Sasquatch via Hypersonic Speed to tank for her. Sasquatch ate pavement fast, falling to the Recruit.
This meant the Exiles had to kick it in high gear fast.
Power Princess, Spider-Man, and Blink maintained melee, with Power Princess and Spidey doing most of the damage while Blink got a pounding fast, causing her to flee for the moment. Power Princess painfully penetrating Poisoned out the Recruit after a smash, and Longshot finished off a damaged Mongul. Power Princess poisoned out Sinestro, as well (the penetrating Poison was my best bet for cracking 18-20 defenses). Meanwhile, Lyssa Drak, the final opponent, got a sudden upgrade when the other player landed on the click on the battery where she was suddenly getting +3 to stats to go with her constructs. Eek!
Lyssa smoked Longshot in one hit, and this caused Blink to try to get back into the mix to buy Spidey and Power Princess time. Lyssa KOed Blink handily, too, while the two remaining Exiles attacked. Spidey ended up Poisoning her out with his default Poison when he landed there. End game, with Spidey about midway down and Power Princess very near the end of her dial!
Game 17
Blink, Longshot, and Sasquatch KOed
Exiles KOs: Sinestro, Mongul, Lyssa Drak, and Sinestro Corps Recruit
Total Exiles KOs: 69 in 17 games
Win-Loss Record: 12-5 (70.58%)
The game went a lot faster than I anticipated, with a massive beatdown rush in the middle of the map leading to Nocturne's sacrificing herself to Eel early to set up Power Princess for smashing Moonstone into a pancake. Whirlwind eventually pushed out to take down an injured Blink (thanks, Zemo, for taking shots all the while and masterminding Blink's damage). Grey Gargoyle fell to an Thor-ed out Spider-Man, and then Power Princess flattened Zemo for the finish.
Game 18
Blink and Nocturne KOed
Exiles KOs: Moonstone, Baron Zemo, and Grey Gargoyle
Total Exiles KOs: 72 in 18 games
Win-Loss Record: 13-5 (72.22%)
The next game, at 300 points, was not quite what I expected: Metropolis pieces in the Duelist Kingdom Forest.
Power Princess 150
Longshot 75
Nocturne 65
Penguin Resource 10
vs.
Superman 125 (Fast Forces Justice League New 52 piece)
Livewire 75 + Lucky Break 5
Gangbuster 45
Gangbuster 45
Falcon ID Card + Falcon 75
An interesting setup led to folks slowly getting into position, with my team just outside Superman's reach and his team just outside Power Princess's reach.
Longshot took the first attack with his Running Shot, pegging Livewire for three damage. This led to an immediate 6 damage crushing reprisal from Superman, dropping Longshot.
This is when Nocturne took over a 3rd click Penguin, gaining Outwit, outwitting Superman's Impervious, and setting him up for a 7 damage smash from Power Princess with an Ultra Heavy. Drop one Superman in one shot!
The rest of the game was a bit more of a slog and a slugfest. Nocturne eventually took down one of the Gangbusters, leading the second one to push out, while a top-dial Power Princess smoked the injured Livewire.
At least Falcon did get in some damage for the other player, briefly, at one point.
Game win!
Game 19
Longshot KOed
Exiles KOs: Superman, Gangbuster, and Livewire
Total Exiles KOs: 75 in 19 games
Win-Loss Record: 14-5 (73.68%)
Overall, my assessment of the night's playing: Power Princess is a BEAST. Very formidable and requiring repeated, accurate, painful smashes if the opponent is going to take her down, she's almost everything one would want in a close combat brick with a strong side of range mid-dial. My only regret is her prime status, which prevents her from playing alongside Sasquatch in what could be an accurate Exiles series roster.
