What's awesome about the trait is that it only requires LOF, not range. Given the right map you can just park these in your starting area (Sidestep every turn if need be) and dare your opponent to attack your more prominent pieces.

He's actually beautiful tie up because if a friendly piece gets hit by a ranged attack...you can port the Recorder adjacent to the attacker and tie them up annoying them with your outwit and EW.

You're not killing what you're porting next to but it definitey doesn't hurt to tie them up for a turn or two

I'm extremely surprised that he doesn't have more stars. He packs a lot into his 35pts., traited Outwit (requiring adjacency), Sidestep, Toughness, Exploit Weakness and he's a stalker for opposing characters that have attacked his teammates. "Hey, that guy shooting at us that we can't see (bc Stealth), he's right here!!" Use his Outwit to soften a tough egg and have your entire team run through. For the low low price of 10 points or less, you can add a relic such as the Colossus Fragment or Star Sappire Ring to make him more of a tie-up nuisance. Start of turn, Outwit defense reducer and Poison. Even if the reducer changes to something else, he's got Exploit Weakness for attacking. @_@

I love this piece. Placing him next to someone that just shot you to base them for free, and outwitting them has caught many people off guard. Then you can sidestep & exploit. Also don't discount the 10 phasing on clicks 3 & 4. This guy is an amazing nuisance. I was just comparing him to nfaos013 Deltite LMD for the same cost & type of piece. And I think I'll stick with Recorder in all cases except a Hydra theme team :-).
