Black Order trait question

I have a quick question about the Black order trait:

Quote

When this character is KO'd by an opposing character's attack, deal damage to that character equal to the last amount of damage dealt to Ebony Maw. This damage can't be reduced below 1.

If you deal 6 damage to this character but he dies in 4 clicks, is the damage dealt 4 or is the damage dealt 6?

6 is what was dealt then reduced to 4 so the attacking character would take 6.

I would say the Damage DEALT was 6 which is different then the Damage TAKEN which was 4.
