PUTTING THE "MAD" IN MAD SCIENTIST: Maximus can use Outwit. When he does, roll a d6 that can't be rerolled. On a result of 1, he loses this power until your next turn. On a result of 5-6, he may immediately use Outwit again. This power can't be countered.
I think I understand the intent of this power, but I'm not positive. So, Maximus outwits a power. He then rolls a die. If he rolls 5 or 6, he can outwit again. If he rolls a 1, he loses outwit until his next turn. Is this implying that the effects of any previous outwits go away? On the PAC, there's nothing to say if you lose outwit, its effects go away, unlike perplex.
OUTWIT: Give this character a free action to counter a power or combat ability possessed by a single target opposing character until the beginning of your next turn. Any game effects with a duration specified by the countered power or combat ability possessed by a single target opposing character until the beginning of your next turn.
So if you roll a 2 to 4, he can't outwit again until his next turn either.
Red King is right on the intent, but I think the specifics is that the "when he uses" part indicates that if he rolls a 1, he loses OW before he's even able to use it (as it's not after the action resolves). Does that make sense?
But yeah, if you get 2-4, it's an everyday OW; if you roll a 5-6, he can use it again right away (so no other action between them).
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
Game effects remain a part of the game only as long as the character continues to possess the power or ability. If a power or ability is countered or lost, all game effects of that power or ability immediately end, but any actions already in progress are resolved normally.
"A Jester unemployed is nobody's fool." - The Court Jester "And so he says, I don't like the cut of your jib, and I go, I says it's the only jib I got, baby!
On a result of 1, he loses this power until your next turn
So if I outwit say your Imperv then roll a 6 and Outwit your HHS then roll a 1 do you get your Imperv and HSS back since I lose Outwit?
Ooh, good catch... I didn't read that as EACH time OW is used (including the second one). So does the inverse apply that if you keep rolling 5-6, you can use extra OWs (like several in one turn if you're really lucky)?

Yep.
If your dice are hot, he can just keep Outwitting.

I missed that as well. Very cool.

Awesome! Thanks for the confirmation!
Now as soon as I get this figure, watch me roll a 1 every time I try to use OW. LOL!!
