Question Utility Belt vs Star Sapphire Ring/Magik Fragment

Utility Belt vs Star Sapphire Ring/Magik Fragment

Sorry if this has been asked and answered already elsewhere, I couldn't seem to get a solid answer. For Reference;

Utility Belt:
BATTLE PLAN: If three or more Utility Belt Items are attached, assigned character can use Indomitable. If five or more Utility Belt Items are attached, you may give the assigned character a free action and select an opposing character within 10 squares and line of fire; that opposing character can't use team abilities until the beginning of your next turn.

Magik Fragment:
Phoenix Power: This character can use the Mystics team ability, but only when hit with a ranged combat attack.

Quote

Star Sapphire Ring:
LOVE: If this character already has the Star Sapphires keyword, modify all of its combat values except damage by +1. Otherwise, this character has the Star Sapphires keyword, the Mystics team ability, and can use Shape Change.

If a character using the Utility Belt (and meeting the requisite conditions to use the bolded ability) targets a character assigned the above mystics granting items/resources, would they not be able to use the Mystics team ability?

Would the same apply to Quintessence granted by Entity Possession?

yup - the belt doesn't care about possession of the ta or anything like that it just stops you from using any tas!
