As my DC collection Grow's I have different play styles i have to plan for and get used to which might bring up a few questions I want to get sorted before i start playing Justice League's and the likes.
Question 1.)
With Hyper Sonic Speed. and Flight ability. If i want to use Hss to move in for a melee attack then continue with the rest of movement i would have to make a break away role? (I believe it to be yes.)
Question 2.)
If Improved movement: Ignore characters, does this mean they would never have to break away on movement?

Break away is only rolled when two conditions are met (RB, page 8):
BREAKING AWAY
If a character occupying a square adjacent
to one or more opposing characters is
given an action and attempts to move, that
character must successfully break away
before it can move, as shown in Figure 8.
So if your HSS is already moving, it would not need to roll break away because it was not adjacent to an opposing character when it was given the action to move.
If it begins adjacent to an opposing character, and you try to give it an action to use HSS, then you would need to roll break away first (and if you fail, you're completely done. No attack, no nothing. Take your action token and like it.)

thats all for now and thanks.
Unless a character had something that prevented it from being ignored, yes. But beware of such characters. For example:
Suffocate: Ultimate Clayface can use Plasticity. Opposing characters adjacent to Ultimate Clayface can’t automatically break away and can’t ignore Ultimate Clayface for movement purposes. When an adjacent character fails to break away from Clayface, it is given an additional action token.
So for most characters in this game, IM: [characters] means no break away necessary. But for those rare few like Ultimate Clayface, you can't ignore them and must still roll break away.
This can't be said enough times (copied, pasted, a bit of emphasis added). It's all about when you were given the action ...
Break away is only rolled when two conditions are met (RB, page 8):
BREAKING AWAY
If a character occupying a square adjacent to one or more opposing characters is given an action and attempts to move, that character must successfully break away before it can move, as shown in Figure 8.
As said above, "if your HSS is already moving, it would not need to roll break away because it was not adjacent to an opposing character when it was given the action to move."
And: If it begins adjacent to an opposing character, and you try to give it an action to use HSS, then you would need to roll break away first (and if you fail, you're completely done. No attack, no nothing. Take your action token and like it.)
(for my later search/find purposes - "primer on hypersonic speed and breakaway")
I might need to download the newest rule books, What set or sets gets me the new rulebook and Pac? if i wanted to buy it?
so if i started 2 squares away and use HSS to move to target and use free action to punch the target and then move 8 squares away i do not need to role break away as i did not start next to Enemy. So that free attack doesnt count as you temporary stopping for attack? but counted as never stopped and constant movement?
Sorry for being so dimmwitted (I am now downloading newwest rule book and card)
Just wanted to get this correct before playing our Flash and Supermen and woman. and Bizarro's

See the rules link in my signature to go to the HeroClix rules page. You can download all the pdfs right there.
If you wish to purchase the latest versions, the Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Starter is the most recent. Technically, the Captain America: Winter Soldier Starter also had the most recent stuff, but due to packaging issues, they do not come with a PAC (rulebook only).

you have it correct - you were two squares away, gave your figure the HSS action in that square, moved, punched, continued to move, ended your movement, assigned the token. No breakaway required. Essentially as you say - as if constant movement.
If you were adjacent, then you would need to roll for it before you attacked, which sucks, because if you failed, that's it, no attack.
Thanks heaps guys..... Looking forward to Justice League vs my new Xmas Legion of Doom set (rubbing hands on Lex and Bizarro and BlackManta.) I have Rogues FF comming in mail to out here in New Zealand. For that crimson speedster.
Probably last question when reading 2014 book and Powers is there any hidden changes that might be missed on my read threw? is there a thread that has already pointed out the hard changes that where missed by dummy's like myself?.
Just remember this is a game about little plastic superheroes - have fun, don't fight IRL.
I couldnt fight my wife when playing against her so i think ill avoid that cause i rather not lose an arguement since i usually end up loosing to her X-Teams..... :P
coco added this bit after I replied to his question about rule books:

Bear in mind while I feel this rule should always be true there is at least 1 exception (despite my recommendation) found in the PG (subject to interpretation)....
Falcon #036 Fly-By
Quote
When using Fly-By, if Falcon chooses to use the rest of his halved
movement, and he starts the movement adjacent to a character from
which he has not yet broken away this turn, he would need to roll
break away normally.

(Speed) Bouncing Beast: Beast can use Charge and Leap/Climb. When using Charge, he breaks away automatically and can continue to use the rest of his halved movement (if any) after making the attack.
so does he get to break away Automatically still? and even further, what if the Enemy has Plasticity? I guess doesnt matter as Beast gets to break away due to Bouncing Beast ya???
