What have I gotten myself into? I just got into the game last night. I can't stop team building. Trying to find sobering that stops gobby. I'm working on a beast666 team with ghost Rider, human torch, prof x. Any suggestions?
ROC and Roll all night and part of everyday.....I have errands to run, you know.
Anything that can slow down and/or prevent a player from fielding sidekicks works well against Gobby.
The Common Dr. Doom has this:
While Doctor Doom is active, each non-Villain character gets -1A and -1D (no matter how many Doctor Doom dice you have fielded).
So if he is fielded, Sidekicks are KO'd automatically unless they've got some other buff to D.
The Uncommon Human Torche can theoretically knock them all out, if you can field a bunch of characters, and it also damages your opponent:
While Human Torch is active, each time you field a character, Human Torch deals 1 damage to your opponent and one to a target character (not 1 damage per Human Torch die).
The AvX Uncommon Cap makes them more expensive to field:
While Captain America is active, your Sidekick characters get +2A, and your opponent's Sidekick characters cost 1 extra energy to field.
The Uncommon Psylocke can knock out Sidekicks each time she is fielded:
When fielded, choose one opposing Sidekick or character with a purchase cost of 2 or less. If it is at level one, knock it out. Otherwise, spin it down one level.
One of the starter Quickslivers can wipe out all Sidekicks unless they've been buffed somehow:
When fielded, Quicksilver deals 1 damage to each opposing Sidekick.
One of the other starter Quicksilvers can do something very similar if you've got a way to force your opponent to block him:
When Quicksilver is blocked, he deals 1 damage to each opposing character (this extra damage resolves before normal combat damage is assigned).
Just a couple examples.
Alternatively, if you can keep Gobby from being fielded in the first place, he's a non-issue.
One of the reasons he's so dangerous is because he's cheap to field. Cerebro can change that:
Place Cerebro on a character card. It remains there until you or a card effect removes it (it is still in the field). Your opponent's dice from that card cost a minimum of 2 energy to field. This cost can't be reduced.
Loki can prevent him from being fielded at all:
When fielded, choose an opponent's character card, canceling all previous choices. Your opponent cannot field that character while Loki is active. This effect lasts until you field another Loki.
Of course, a lot depends on the luck of the die. Gobby can be beat, though. Good luck!
There is a storm that makes your opponent Reroll their dice when she attacks(4 Cost).
It's pretty devastating anyway, but when they have a field full of sidekicks... there's a 5/6 chance they aren't coming back. There is also a risk they'll upgrade their lower leveled characters to higher ones.
There is an LE Apocalypse that does the same thing when he's fielded, except your opponent takes 2 damage for each one that rolls energy.(7 Cost but damn)
There is a Punisher that deals 2 damage to all opposing characters when he attacks, but your opponent can stop it by paying 4 life.
The basic action card Force Beam deals 1-2 damage a pop to everything on the field, but it hurts your peeps too.
Er...the Super Rare Slifer from YGO has the ability (paraphrasing here):
When fielded, knockout all sidekicks (including your own). While in play, sidekicks cost +3 energy to field. Just gotta work around the 7 (or is it 8?) purchase cost and the 1 max die limit.
So...yeah...an easy to get solution...

Lol. I been looking at patch. I pull tsarina and patch. It seems to beat him 2/3 of them time.i play the rare hulk, uncommon Venom, Sr witch(my other sr) webslinger spidy, rare blue eyes for the global and rare prof x that doesn't allow people to be fielded unless you pay life.
