I didn't see this asked anywhere so I thought I'd ask what may be a stupid question. Does Black Adam get the +1 to his attack via "You Will Pay" if he is played as a OMA since he would be the only piece on his team not ko'ed?
YOU WILL PAY: If Black Adam is the only character on your force that has not been KO'd, modify his attack value by +1. If Black Adam is the only character on your force that has not been KO'd and your force is a named themed team, instead modify all of Black Adam's combat values by +1.
The way I'm reading it as an OMA he would be the only character on my force not ko'ed, it doesn't say that someone has to be ko'ed to activate it where as the second half implies at least Adam and one other piece to make a named theme team.
He would not. Due to the wording of his power you must have had at least one other character that was KO'd. Note, that could be as simple as having a pog push to death on turn two.
If Black Adam is the only character on your force that has not been KO'd. Since it says that has not been KO'd you need to check to see if any other characters had been KO'd.

Dragon, your answer strikes me as so wrong I can't sit back and be quiet. Is there a WizKids ruling on this? It seems to me completely unambiguous. If Black Adam is the only character on your force, and hasn't been KO'd, then he is certainly the only character on your force who hasn't been KO'd.

Yep, given my understanding of the English language, I completely agree w/ Dragon.
Of course, because this ruling MAKES COMPLETE SENSE, whichever English-as-a-Second-Language student is making the rules decisions this week made the below ruling.....
If Black Adam begins the game as the only character on your force, then he would be the only character on your force that has not been KO'd and would get the +1 modifier to his attack value.
If this were Game Design's intent, the SP would have been worded:
YOU WILL PAY: If Black Adam is the only character on your force that has not been KO'd, modify his attack value by +1. If Black Adam is the only character on your force that has not been KO'd and your force is a named themed team, instead modify all of Black Adam's combat values by +1.
The clause "that has not been KO'ed" is only necessary for the Themed Team condition, as a Themed Team requires at least 2 characters.

I agree with you and the wording. It is implied through the wording that you need at least one other friendly character on your force. And they need to be ko'ed. But......

Your suggested wording would only cover the scenario where BA is the only figure on your force. The trait also applies if BA started with some teammates who subsequently got KO'ed.

Well, it was ruled he would get the +1 to his attack even if he is the only character on your force. The way he worded it, if he is the only one on your force, whether he started with allies or not, he gets the +1 to attack. The current wording seems like it implied you needed another friendly character to be ko'ed before you could use it. That is why he suggested it be worded the way he posted.

That is exactly what my thoughts were when I gave my response and literally what my reasoning was for giving it.
