All right so I found out that if a game is over 400 pts, it is considered a epic battle, so my question is, does it take 1 or 2 tokens to give a epic action?

An epic action gives the character one action token.
I think hes confusing it with a double power action.
Other people at my venue thought that as well a long time ago and I didn't think to ask them then. I am curious if its how its worded or something else?

Epic Actions. When your build total is 400 points
or more, it is called an epic battle and each player
is granted one epic action per turn. An epic action
is a type of power action that can only be used
to activate an epic trait ability (indicated by the
symbol on a character card). Unlike a typical
power action, an epic action does not count
against your action total.
Nothing in the wording, that I see, suggests that you would take two action tokens. The only thing I can think of is that the description for Epic Actions comes right after the description for Double Power Actions in the rule book.
It just sounds like it should be a double power action. Its EPIC!
I remember the first time I read Arwen's card. I read the power, then saw it was an epic action. I'm like "Epic action? So she can only do it once per game?". I had never read the rules for any LotR clix.
At the time the answer was no. She could do it whenever she had room for action tokens. That was one of the rare cases I really enjoyed errata.

A guy at my venue who is considered kinda a rules guru said it was a double token situation.
He was wrong.

I wonder where he got that from? No harm done. We probably won't see any more epic actions introduced into the game with the theoretical end to Tolkien and MK clix.

Agreed! One of our (younger) players absolutely loved his Arwyn and cried when they did the errata as he would win almost every time he played her (which was always in a several hundred point game).
When I first read them, I read them as once per game actions for some reason... but these are super-incredible actions that don't even count towards your action total (which is super-epic).

I would as well (as the Horde tokens and other LotR concepts have), but maybe not as overpowered as Arwyn or limited to once per game... but I'm not the one to make the rules. LOL!
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
