It's certain cards that are generally considered undercosted/overpowered.
Such as Gobby (Green Goblin super rare) or Tsarina (Black Widow super rare).
They each have a very strong ability and the "purchase" cost of the dice for that variant of those characters is very low.
Plus the cards still retail for upwards of $60, so that should tell you something.
Johnny Storm Human Torch is also considered very strong.
Uncanny X-Men introduced the "Professor X" global (to spend a mask and recover two sidekick die to your prep area, most often done at the end of your opponent's main phase), which is also very "meta" right now.
Yugioh has some new cards, nothing quick as meta breaking as these.
D&D is still an unknown, as are the DC cards/dice. The Constantine SR looks particularly broken, when it comes out, we'll see.
Enjoy - it's a fun, quick game to learn and to play!
I went to a tourney last weekend.
Everyone's team was an internet team(about 26 people). When I say everyone I mean the say... 15 teams I got a look at.
About half of the team i saw had the "spiderbomb". Which is you buy spider-man round one and on round 3 he can deal like 15 damage to the player.
Everyone(but me) had professor X for his global.
A few used Human Torch(Johnny Storm)
A few used Storm (Wind-Rider)
I didn't realize spiderbomb was a term but that was what my next team was built around. We are doing a tourney where you get extra starting life for each universe you have on your team (assuming dc and dnd are out).
